4 step rv steps info

Looking for new rv steps with 4 steps instead of the OEM 3 step system. Looking for a good solid and sturdy set that are easy to install with very little modifications needed.

Anybody here ever installed these and have input to guide me in my purchase?

Thanks, Tim

Got the Elkhart Quad. Love them. Only thing it took a long time to get the old ones out as they welded them in.Had to do a lot of cutting. New ones are bolted in (like the factory should have done in the first place). Have you ever seen steps all bent to **ll because someone drove away and left them down? I have. Bolting would have been so much simplar to repair. Because there is an extra step the stairs are a little less stable but not so much that you feel unsafe.

Your last comment "Because there is an extra step the stairs are a little less stable but not so much that you feel unsafe" makes me wonder if what you have are the best/heaviest duty 4 steps out there?

I have 3 steps on our MS and they are rock solid. I have been up and down friends 4 step that have a Cardinal and they are flimsy feeling to me. Now a couple weeks ago we looked at some new MS 5ers and the 4 steps were very solid.

  • I installed the Quadra Steps linked above. I did it by myself in about 45 minutes. I had to modify the bracket on the trailer a little with my Sawzall,, but all in all, it was pretty easy. It would have been much easier with somebody to help me, though.

  • You can go to Elkhart Tool & Dye web site and down load diagrams with measurements of the steps and more information.
