Yes, if I were to go air hitch it would no doubt be a Hensley. Until then I will suffer with my "Heavy Weight" B&W and air bag TrailAire kingpin.

- GoPackGoExplorerI like being a moron. It's easier to spell then highlyintelligent.
- Sport45Explorer IIIn the next post we'll a picture of the "perfect" 5th wheel hitch. ;)
If you think about anything else, you're being a moron!
:R - Sport45Explorer II^^ That's the sort of derailing I was concerned about...

At the risk of derailing the thread, I'll suggest you also look at the Andersen Ultimate Aluminum hitch. It's on the top of the list for me.
It connects to any gooseneck ball. So as long as the gooseneck ball is removable you'll have a clean bed when it's out.
And if you want a shop vac go buy a Craftsman, they "DEVELOP" 6HP. ;) - DtankExplorer

You could have left out most of that post and offered some useful advice. What are some of the excellent options? You could have named a few which is what the OP actually asked for.Halmfamily wrote:
B&W is the only way to go in my opinion.

"Opinions" are like elbows (or?) - everyone usually has one or two.
Simply stated there *are* differing opinions...:S
I haven't had the others - - but MINE is best!..:S..:S
OP - lots of excellent options -
do *YOUR* research, decide which one is best for *YOU*....:C
.
Pot calling the kettle black!
Where is Your - "useful advice".??..:?
Why is a B & W (in halmfamily's opinion) better than any others?..:h
Which others have you had?..:h
Lastly why is *your* opinion more valuable than someone else's who is
equally happy with their (other brand) hitch?..:R
Useful advice for the OP is still:
Do your research on all the hitches out there and choose the one that best suits *YOUR* needs.
BTW - most folks who have chosen wisely, still have the first hitch they purchased (me too - in 2005).
Have I tried (or owned) any of the others - nope.
Are they as good or better than the one I have?
No way to know.
My "opinion" is like yours - mine is best - for "ME"...:S

Thanks guys, where to buy the B and W hitch. I really don't want to drill a bunch of holes if I don't have to.
If you have no plans to ever use the gooseneck, you have 1 4" hole in your bed. If you do want to have the option to use the GN, then you have 4 more 1/2" holes in the bed for the safety chain connectors. These are 2 spring-loaded u-bolts that go through the bed and into the base and pop up when you need them. They're positioned in one of the rib valleys on each side, and only stick up about 1/8" above the ribs when not in use. That's it; 5 holes total. If you do a DIY install (I've done 2), the single hardest thing is getting up the nerve to actually cut a 4" hole in the bed of your truck. :-)
Lyle - ralphnjoannExplorerSome fifth wheel hitches can be very heavy and ungainly making them difficult to install and remove. For example, here is a thread about removing a B&W Companion slider hitch. You may want make this type of information a part of your final decision.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIYou're not derailing the thread. He's asking for suggestions for hitches that can be completely removed from the bed. The Anderson is on the short list, so hardly off-topic.
