Actually heavy pin weight results in better towing aspect with a 5th wheel.
Too light and you get chucking

20% to 25% is common

My 5th wheel has a 14K GVWR yet has 7K axles/8k suspension and 16" tire with load rating of 3750#/ea
My wet pin is 22% of actual scaled weight

Do not lighten pin weight. You will not like the towing effect of a light pin weight

I'd run it and not even think about it.

Just let ithe 6.2 rev when it needs too...it will do a fine.

not to derail the topic or promote the diesel thing again, but I am on my second F250 and tow right at 10K. A gasser and i am happier than a pig in a mud hole with it. i did get the 4.30 diffy since i had to order it to get 2WD also

now on the tires. Both trucks came with the General grabber LR E tires. On the first truck I was driving down the road minding my business when kaboom a rear tire blew. Winter before last on the current truck one of the rear grabbers had tread separation. i caught that one before it exploded. I have now switched to Firestone Transforce on the rear but only have one winter under the belt on those.

No weight cop here, but do tow a FW with similar truck, so will give my take anyway. I agree with Old-Biscuit, your truck will carry/tow that FW, but you will be at your limit.

Like mentioned above the 6.2 will pull it, but will need to rev on steeper hills. I lock out 6th when I tow, unless taking advantage of a good tail wind. It is just 2 of us, and small fur kid. You are obviously going to have more passengers in the truck, since your trailer is a bunkhouse.

Yes, your truck will work, and you will like towing the FW, rather than the TT. Would a 350 diesel be a better choice? Sure, but I think you already know that.

Your F250 truck will be fine with that size trailer.

I pull a 11200 -11400 gross weight 5th wheel rv trailer with a 2500 Dodge/Cummins. This truck has a 6000 rawr and gross rear axle loads run in the 5100-5300 lb range depending on how much "stuff" the wife loads in the trailer.
I weigh all my trucks/trailers, rv and non rv, so I know exactly how much payload each vehicle has.

Regardless of which weight number you choose to determine how much load the trucks rear axle is carrying you really need to weigh your trucks front and rear axles. That way you know if your exceeding a axle/tire or wheel capacity. Don't guess..... get'r weighed.

So I am not the weight police, as I tow over GVWR and right at GCVWR, this is just the facts as I see them, the final choice is your and your alone.

Well searched Keystone's WEB and the only model that fits 2016 "293FWBHS" is a sprinter wide body.

So you will be right at or slightly over you GCVWR and likely a tad over GVWR, If you have at least tires that meet the Payload capacity sticker on the door, you will likely be well within axle and tire ratings.

Depending on what you carry in the truck and 5er you might come in under the Class 2 limited 10,000# GVWR of your F250, for sure under axle and tire.
11,000# to 12,000# for the 6.2, flats it will be fine, hills it will need to rev!!!

Keep in mind you are going from a 7,200# GVWR TT to a 12,700# 5er, the dry weight of the 5er is almost twice your TT. If you are planing to head out West, might want more engine, or deeper gears.

What is trucks rear tire MAX Load Rating??

Going to be close.....but doable weight wise.
Towing might not be all that enjoyable but again doable.

Of course Trailer Life ignores GVWR, rear axle GAWR and the weight of passengers, cargo, hitch, etc. They just perpetuate the myth of the "trailer tow rating" as the be-all and end-all.
