- TravlingmanExplorer IICruz...You will love the way it pulls. The DW and I both feel more comfortable pulling with a dually verses the SRW. As we live in the mountains, it feels more stable with the rig behind it. I was also surprised as the ride of the dually is more comfortable than the '02 SRW I traded in, and it rode good. But I am lucky, the DW won't even consider driving the dually. It's all mine.:B
- cruzExplorerYes ... the dealer was instructed by Jayco to re-route one of the round ducts from the heater.
Originally had two going to the bedroom and two to the Living room area ... now there's ONE going to the bedroom and Three going to the Living Room ... they also installed floor vents in the bathroom and bedroom that can be adjusted to restrict the air flow.
Dura ... Absolutely LOVE the new (to me) Truck !! Never had any kind of weight in it before, so the first time I hooked up the fiver it creaked and groaned like ... well, you get the idea !!
Haven't pulled with it yet, but looking forward to a trip up to the Great Northwest the end of November. How does yours do pullin' the Designer ?
Biggest problem I have is my wife likes driving it so much I only get to drive it on weekends !! :h
CRUZ - CHV_FRKExplorerYes, we used ours a little this weekend and the duct fix worked well. That is until it hit and unexpected 70 deg yesterday!!! Crazy weather. Another great weekend away!
- TravlingmanExplorer IIGuess I had better check the bed.
Has anyone used their furnance after they had the duct work fixed? I know mine, an early build, would run you out of bedroom with to much heat. Dealer did the fix of duct work, but we haven't tried it out yet. Have some trips in the short future, and wondered if it fixed the problem or not.
Cruz,
See you got you a pulling machine now. How do you like the dually? Have you pulled with it yet? - cruzExplorerThanks "Blue" ... will definately check out the switches.
As far as the Valance ...ours came loose on the side window next to the lounge chairs ... Jayco said they WOULD NOT cover the loose valance, stating it was a "maintenance" item !!
Also would not cover screws that came completely out of the framework under the bed ... same reason !!
The local dealer went ahead and fixed both of these while I had it in for other warranty work, and didn't charge me !! Really good folks.
CRUZ - TravlingmanExplorer IIBlue,
Will do the check on the switches. Also, I remember that it was brought up about the valance over big window being held by a few screws. Last trip after set-up, we noticed one end of valance falling down. After checking, one of the 3 screws that hold up valance had pulled out. Fixed and added 4 more on return home. I used #10 x 1 1/2" wood screws to add more strength. - Come-N-GoExplorerThanks for the heads up. I will check mine, i thought I smelled a slight burning smell a couple of days ago.
- M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerOk guys time to listen up here...
Took our 35RLTS out this past Friday and set up at a local RV park Friday afternoon and everything went fine...
Rained all day Friday and Friday night and when I woke up Saturday morning the rain had finally stopped. As I usually do I brought each slide in to get the water off the awnings over the slides but when I got to the super slide (stove/refrig/couch) it was a no go! Checked everything we could and still nothing (pushing the switch in or out produced nothing, not even a grunt from the slide motor or even a click to show the solenoid was connecting). Finally had to call a local Rv dealer and he decided to send someone out to help us (very much appreciated but more on that later). After searching everywhere and finding nothing he finally found the problem...he took the slide switch off the wall and proceeded to pull the switch wires out of the wall and noticed a burning smell...what ended up happening is the 2 black wires that control the in and out movements had come loose (were not properly installed in the first place?????) and were now loose and basic electrical knowledge shows as these 2 wires grew farther apart the more they burned and that is what they were doing. Took off the burned connector cap and put all the wires back together using black electrical tape and all was well. What all this means to us is the fire danger that was present all day Friday and all of Friday night...scared the ?*&%$#@ out of us when we found out what had happened or what might had happened. So might want to check those slide switch wire connections...
One other thing we learned...to get to the slide motors you have to climb under the Designer and remove the 16 screws on the center access panel to ven get to the slide motor and the only way to manually bring in a slide that won't move is to finally get to the slide motor and either: (1) clip the rd and black wires and hook up to a battery via battery cables which will bring the slide back in; or (2) the slide motor has a gear box and on the end of the gear box is a nut (1/2") and using a 1/2" ratchet you can slowly bring the slide back in); there is no outside manual crank to bring the slides back in you have to crawl under and do the above.
Finally thank you to Chris Galvanek of Galvanek's RV and Autos in Cadillac, MI on M55 inside the Manistee National Forest. Chris came out on a Saturday afternoon about 4:30pm and fixed our problem above and for that I send him a big thank you which means for everyone else if you are in the area and need Rv help give him a call and you may be surprised...nice guy and a local dealer who went above and beyond to help us and would likely mean great service after the sale should you buy a new RV from there...

I'll be contacting Jayco about our problem and the wire connections... - canadianstrokerExplorerTurns out our w/d just had a loose wire. Easy fix but hell to get at it. Talked to the dealer and the problem with my furnace was 'bad' LP. Changed regulator and drained oil out of lines and she's good as new.
- Come-N-GoExplorerThanks RedG. We are going to try the full king, i ordered one of foam ones from wally world today, if it is too tight, we will go to a 72" king.
We spent the day checking things out. The FM on the Jensen stereo did not sound good, the signal was bad, so we pulled it out, and the antenna was not hooked up. We pulled out the bottom center drawer, and there was the antenna cable, just dangling there, we hooked it up, and everything works like a charm.
Everything else seems to work fine. The quality in the cabinetry is really good. I like this thing more every day!
