- TravlingmanExplorer IICome-N-Go, must be your TV. Picture on ours is real good. I have been impressed with how good the pic is.
earherrmann,
First, give a big thanks to your son. I know you must be proud of him. And for your present, I use to live in Culpeper, VA, and I remember driving through Madison county and the deer running the roads at night. You need something like that on the front of a vehicle if you ever get in that area. Enjoy your trip, we leave for TN on Saturday morning. - Come-N-GoExplorerI have a question for those who have the 42" TV. On mine, even with a strong signal to it, the people look like they are plastic, the picture is kind of nasty. I wonder if something is wrong with the TV, or if it is just a cheap set? I have a chance to get a nice 42" Toshiba with some reward miles, and wonder if I should.....
- eaherrmannExplorerHey All, just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or Bah Humbug depending on how you celebrate this time of year. Also, Happy New Year!! We are on our way to meet our son who gets back from Iraq on Monday, then off to Ft Lauderdale for the holidays with the family. Just installed my Christmas present on the truck... Too redneck?? What da ya think? Not worries about Deer :)

- cruzExplorerOK ... shower leak is in the drain !! Not sure of any damage yet, but Jayco did authorize repairs yesterday. Repairs will start on Monday.
They will need to remove the shower unit (or raise it ??) to access the area ... THAT ought to be interesting !!
Will keep you posted.
Also wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas, and how about a safe and Prosperous 2009 !!.
CRUZ - 2QAYLExplorerHey, Cruz, that's not good news about the shower leak but thanks for posting the update. I have noticed what I thought was only leakage from the door or drips on the floor after showering but now I'll have our dealer check it out. I had leaks at the shower faucet in the 34RLQS but at least, with great difficulty, I could get at it from the utility space behind the storage area. I can't even figure out how one accesses the shower plumbing in the 35RLTS.
Merry Chrismas to All.
Dave - cruzExplorerQuick update on "leaks" !!
On our last trip we noticed a little water at the outside base of the shower after showering. (just under the door) at first thought it was just residual from when we stepped out of the shower, but decided to have it checked out .... yep, there's a leak under all that fiberglass somewhere!
Dealer isolated it and is waiting for Jayco to Authorize repair ... still waiting for feedback on how much damage there was, but the advisor did say it didn't look like it had been leaking long, or very much.
I'll post exactly what was leaking as soon as I find out !!
So ... Toilet, under bathroom sink ... and now shower ... keep an eye on it all !!

I also had a problem with those caps... not the beauty caps, but the grease caps. Wore out the bearings and they had to be replaced.
Very good to know, CHV_FRK, I'll be letting my dealer know that because he said that it must have happened because I hit a pot-hole which was nonsense. I was lucky, no evidence of play or heat in the bearing on the rest of the way home.
Thanks, M GO BLUE. After everyone of the many trips we've had, I've always thanked the good Lord for a safe journey.
Dave - CHV_FRKExplorerI also had a problem with those caps... not the beauty caps, but the grease caps. Wore out the bearings and they had to be replaced. I checked it after our first trip and it was that bad. Must have fallen off at the factory and ruined the bearings on the trip down. Had them replaced and a new cap. 2000 miles later I had to retighten the bearings.
It's a good idea for everyone to check their wheels and endplay. A bottle jack is all you need and just check one wheel at a time. - M_GO_BLUE1Explorer

Point is this system is great but difficult to trouble shoot, the AC can be jump started but the furnace is a different animal all together.
You think that part is difficult to troubleshoot...hopefully this will never happen but let's hope you don't ever come across where on of your slides won't retract as happend to us...there is no outside crank to put it back in...you have to crawl underneath the Designer, unscrew 16 screws (yes I counted) and remove an access panel, stick your head up and find the slide motor, then SLOWLY ratchet the slide back in...was not fun!
P.S. Good to see you got back home safe Dave! - 2QAYLExplorerHi Folks,
Very glad to hear that your trip to Oregon went well, Cruz. It was great to see you again and I appreciated you taking the time to visit when were were in Mesa and you were so busy. I haven't made any reservations for a 2009 Oregon Coast trip as yet but will let you know our plans soon. It would be very nice to meet at Waldport or any other place that works.
We left Mesa on November 25, a couple of days earlier than planned, to stay ahead of deteriorating weather on our way north. We stayed in the trailer all three nights, at Albuquerque, Wellinton, Colorado, and finally at Miles City, Montana. I winterized the trailer on the morning of Thanksgiving Day in Wellington because the daytime temperatures were forecast to be below freezing north of there. Except for some very light snow north of Cheyenne, travel and road conditions were excellent.
The only trouble we had occurred north of Cheyenne and I thought it would be good to report on as a warning to others. At a fuel stop I discovered that the decorative cap on the left-front wheel hub had disappeared. Not only that, but the inner cup that protects the bearing and the grease nipple had also come loose and had obviously been bouncing around inside the hub. After removing the wheel, I was able to get the cup back on the axel eventhough it was somewhat bashed-up. Once the wheel was back on I used tape to cover the opening in the end of the hub. An inspection of the other caps revealed that the one on the right-rear was partially loose so I tapped it back in place and it remained solid for the rest of the trip. From now on I'll be taking a closer look at those caps at every stop.
I'd like to say that it was great to get home and back to work but my Mother said it was a sin to tell a lie. So I'll just say that Phoenix is a great place to be in November and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Less than 8 months to retirement...but who's counting?:B:B:B
Cheers,
Dave
