- TandA-n-MacExplorerAtwood furance FYI; I have 8900 series model 2540 2 stage 40,000BTU W/ the motor relay intergrated into the circuit board(yellow/red wires). it recently stop working; now i know how to work a voltmeter, but carpenter by trade. Normally you jump the wires at the thermo to start furnace to rule out the thermo. well it did not work which started me on trouble shooting motor and board. this animal does not trouble shoot like any other, a black and red wire from motor are both hot(low/high fan)the ground(neutral) is feed from the board.
just before i started to order parts, i called O.E. RV's(repair) in Fallen Waters, WV. My current location; they repeated what i did for 4hrs. finially took a thermo from a new Lance on their lot and it worked. it is the digital heat/cool thermo from Atwood( thing has 1000 diodes and lists for $211). Point is this system is great but difficult to trouble shoot, the AC can be jump started but the furnace is a different animal all together. Kudos to O.E. RV they only charged me $110 for the thermo and because it was a learning experience for their(2 guys) techs they only charged me $167 in labor.
ahhhh... life is an adventure, so enjoy. - cruzExplorer

Hey Cruz, could you take a picture of how you mounted the front leg bracket to the frame? I would likie to get an idea how you did it. THX
I could ... but dropped mine off at the dealer on Tuesday ...
It's really very straight forward following the instructions. To attach the front arms BACK to the frame ... just measure back from the landing gear, mark it, drill it, and use the self tapping bolts to attach the bracket. I bolted mine right over the corregated enclosure material ... nice and tight.
Do you have the generator installed on yours? The most difficult part of installing the front side to side arms on mine was having to lift the fuel tank for the generator enough to gain access to the top of the front Angle iron. Was easy enough to drill ... but had no access to the top portion to install the nut and washer onto the bolts.
The ONE THING I will tell you is ... make sure you have a sharp drill bit ... makes a WORLD of difference.
Hope that helps ..

.... Looking at JT Armstrongs...but i have a bad hand and need it installed by the RV supplier...$750.00 for the JT's and installation is the cheapest i found...that's a LOT!!! are these things really gonna make life better in this rig???Actually, the movement is the only bad thing about this rig.. sometimes we sleep at different times for work and the shaking makes that hard...any real-life experiences with JT's would be greatly appreciated....Thanks to all...
I installed JT's on the landing gear about 6 months ago, and boy did they make a difference !! Haven't figured out how to install them in back yet ... probably need to install an extra brace ... but I understand that will also make a big difference.
IMHO ... worth every penny ... especially with the DW being happy ... :B
check around a couple of places for comparison on pricing ... 750 does sound a little steep !!

hey all. Well, been living in our 35 rlts about a month now and i have to say...it's GREAT! Picked it up in Seattle...home to Boise, ID for a week...now in San Diego. Sold our home in Boise and i guess we'll stay where it doesn't snow till spring. Had a few leaks under the sink (just needed tightening)but otherwise all is good. We do have a slow leak around the filter fitting under the kitchen sink we can't seem to stop completely. Scared to tighten it anymore for fear of breaking it. So far though, i am really pleased with my new home...wife loves it too after i switched out the shower head for more power in the shower. Any other things i should be looking at to modify?
Also, i have a question for all you full-timers...We do have a lot of trailer-shake in this rig...Looking at JT Armstrongs...but i have a bad hand and need it installed by the RV supplier...$750.00 for the JT's and installation is the cheapest i found...that's a LOT!!! are these things really gonna make life better in this rig???Actually, the movement is the only bad thing about this rig.. sometimes we sleep at different times for work and the shaking makes that hard...any real-life experiences with JT's would be greatly appreciated....Thanks to all...
I had some on my old rig, and they were worth every penny I paid for them. I got a set of ultra-fab eleminators for this new one, basically the same thing, and a lot cheaper. I went to put them on, and there is a problem. As far as I can see, I am gonna have to have some gussets welded onto the frame to mount the brackets to, the frame only has about a 1/2" lip to mount to. That may be why they are charging so much. I am waiting on a local welder friend to come do it when he is in the area... - 3wheelinExplorerhey all. Well, been living in our 35 rlts about a month now and i have to say...it's GREAT! As most of you know our dealer sold out to a larger dealer and due to my past dealings with this larger dealer I have no trust in their service department (or the whole company for that matter)...may have to take it to a local mechanic who can do the yearly preventative maintenance on the wheel bearings
