On the topic of stereo, mine has an external controller mounted on the outside of the camper. It will do everything except turn the volume DOWN....kind of annoying at times. Anyone else have this problem? I've also notice the stereo itself is kind of junky. Much of the time, when I press a certain button on it, it will do something else. Anyone else try replacing it with a newer model? I'd love to have something that the external control actually fully works.
Isn't the stock stereo a Jensen? If so its pretty much junk and the same can be said for the tiny/laughable Insignia flat screens they put in their haulers. They would be better off just pre-wiring the unit, knocking a few hundred dollars off and letting owners put in their own decent quality A/V equipment. I know when I get my 28SAG (hopefully sometime soon) I will be ripping all that junk out. - bradley0128ExplorerOkay, sorry for the barrage here. I'm back in my camper after a 6 month storage and have come up with lots of questions.
This one regards suspension. After much research and discussion, I added the Equa-flex by Lippert/Trailair. I absolutely love them! The ride, combined with the addition of my Mor/Ryde hitch and B&W fifth wheel hitch made an amazing difference.
Here is the problem I just found: When looking under the fenders, I noticed my tires have recently rubbed the underside. In one spot, the tire wore through the black moisture barrier and rubbed on the wood floor joist. No damage to the tire or wood...yet. I installed the Equaflex. I used the longer, 3 1/4" shackles to maintain the same ride height I had with the stock setup and 2 5/8" shackles. The tires never rubbed before. I'm thinking I should've put in the shorter shackles and dealt with the higher ride height. I currently measured 12'9" to the top of the A/C unit. I'm guessing the Equaflex allow more suspension movement overall.
Anyone else experience this?
I have had some tire wear issues, thus was just researching Correct Track. Anyone use this yet? I read it raises the coach by 2 inches. Be that so, it would fix my issue listed above while keeping me under the 13'4" Federal bridge height, plus fix my apparent alignment issue.
Any input?
Thanks! - bradley0128ExplorerI also want to post another question about inverter/converters and batteries. Was the inverter an option? I don't think I have one. My rig does charge the batteries when plugged in, so there is some sort of converter, but I do not have the ability to run anything 110v when not plugged in. Is it hard to install one? What is the difference between and inverter and converter?
Has anyone switched over to 6v golf cart or tractor batteries? Is it worth doing? My 12v batteries are about toast after leaving my main power switch on while in storage. They will charge, but not hold a very good one for very long. I hear the 6v batteries are much more resilient and give far more amp-hours usage per charge.
Further related... has anyone installed solar panels? If so, how did you wire them in? Where did you run the wires? Has anyone seen the 45 watt set from Harbor Freight? I've read mediocre mixed reviews on them. I thought about trying with them first. The review I've read said they are a good, relatively inexpensive starter set to learn on.
One last electrical question....has anyone installed fan vents in place of vents that have no fan yet. I took my shroud off an unpowered vent and could not find any access to even think of running wires to. I've thought about installing either a vent fan or even a 3rd A/C unit in my garage, but have no idea where to pull power from. With fan, I believe I talked to a guy at the factory that said I could run fish tape over to a light fixture, pull wires, and tap into that power as the fan does not draw much.
Thanks, guys! I hope y'all can help! - bradley0128ExplorerI have not had that problem with the water heater stereo.

Am I the only one with this problem? - Aquaholic502ExplorerForgot to add another issue. When the water heater kicks on the stereo stops working lol. Have to power it down and restart then it works fine.
- Aquaholic502ExplorerMine is progressive dynamics and it is a 3 stage. We are temporarily living in ours so it is plugged in all the time. I check the battery every once in a while and level is still good on the battery that it came with. Why do you want to change it. I was thinking same thing cause ours has a buzzing noise and LED lights at night get dim some times. What doesnt make sense is if I turn on a light somewhere else they get brighter lol.
- rhinowinoExplorerDoes anyone know what kind of converter/inverter are installed in the Attitudes? Are they 3 stage by any chance? Suggestions for a good 3 stage? The reason I ask is I will be lucky enough to store my trailer at my house and want to keep it plugged in all the time and not worry about cooking the batteries.
- danojenoExplorerAfter my New Years trip I washed the trailer and noticed leaks from three of the street side windows. I hoped perhaps this was due to direct blasting from the hose. During today's rain I learned that at least one is leaking. Time to research how to pull and re-caulk these suckers. Keep your eyes peeled, as my trailer is just over a year old.
- rangerburgerExplorerMy 30 amp fuse was blown. Slot 19.
