Did they get your trailer fixed and are you happy with the results?
I havent picked up my trailer yet. I'm having them do that extra Kitchen cupboard over the frigerator. And the kitchen drawer That does not open. They are making it into a useful drawer They had to order the door above the refrigerator. I pick it up this friday and drop it off at richardsons rv to have my axles Flipped. And pick it back up saturday. So far chris at eclipse has been very helpful - BakersfieldExplorer

Only issue to check out/consider would be the truck Tonnage (GVWR) that you carry. IF licensed under 10K you are overweight by regulation as scaled. To limit liability -your Truck GVWR should be licensed for 10K (more than your typical loaded weight.
Question: If his truck is only rated to GVWR 9200 lbs, and he is running GVWR 9640 lbs (over 440 lbs), how would licensing the truck for 10K limit liability?
Any amount over weight by regulation and is known by the operator can be easily argued that the operator was operating in a negligent manner. Buying the extra licensing -in my state, less than $100.00 annually, removes this liability. Remember that Truck GVWR is not a legally enforceble number in most states (each state is different) but the GVWR (Paid Tonnage) limit of your registration is for sure. Your risk is not at the scale house but in an accident for the most part.
Also, in an accident with a death, many states will totally re-create the accident scene "on-site" using GPS surveying techniques and normal post accident investigate/interviews plus haul rigs/pieces to a scale to determine cause and responsibility.
It is all about CYA and limiting the ambulance chasers from establishing a way to attack your estate in a seperate civil proceeding after the traffic infraction level process takes place. Any establishment of guilt or negligence -even if not cited gives additional strength to a civil case. Civil case awards can easily push beyond the limits of a typical auto insurance policy.... - BakersfieldExplorer

Truck Only (F350 CC DRW 6.0L 6SP 8FT bed)Full Fuel
Steer Axle 4800 lbs
Drive Axle 3720 ibs
Total Weight 8520 lbs
Truck and Trailer (Full H2O,Gas, Propane, 4 ATVs)* Trip ready
Steer Axle 4760 lbs
Drive Axle 5800 ibs
Trailer Axle 10160 lbs
Total Weight 20720 lbs
Trailer Weight 12200 lbs
Trailer Weight 9520 lbs (Full Gas, Propane, No H20, No Toys)
Trailer Weight 10440 lbs (Full Gas, Propane, H20, No Toys)
3 Honda ATV250, 1 Honda ATV90 = 1760 lbs
1 Tank of water = 920 lbs
Payload available after (Full Gas, Propane, H20) = 1460 - mapguyExplorer

OK, loaded up for Glamis on Friday. Four quads, full water and fuel...decided to stop by the CAT Scales for a quick weigh in. Here is what I found: Trailer weighed 12,560. The pin was 2,200 of that. A little over the 11,900 GVWR (Claimed 8100 dry). Here is how it shook out for a truck full of gas, coolers in the bed, no passengers:
Front axle: 4040
Rear axle: 3400
Total: 7440
Attach the trailer:
Front axle: 4240
Rear axle: 5400
Trailer axle: 10360
Total: 20000
Here are the door jamb ratings for the truck:
GVWR: 9200
GAWR FT: 4670
GAWR RR: 6084
Bottom line is that once you throw a moderate load, along with water and fuel on board, you need a serious diet to stay under the 11,900 GVWR...and the 9,200 for my truck.
Yep, on the overweight thing. I like how the Attitude/Stellar Toyhaulers look and are built except their limited GVWR. All their smaller 5er units are very limited payload wise if you fill the water tank, fuel tanks -gas/LPG and have any options like the generator and extra battteries.
Personally, your truck numbers are fine. Only issue to check out/consider would be the truck Tonnage (GVWR) that you carry. IF licensed under 10K you are overweight by regulation as scaled. - BakersfieldExplorerAt least 5". You can climb under and measure your gain. They weld a plate on top of axle (like the one currently on the underside) and everything moves up accordingly.
