DRV Mobile suites Naples

Looking to purchase a DRV Mobile suites Naples and was wondering if anyone has owned one any thoughts or concerns

My tow vehicle is a 2014 GMC 3500 denali 5k cargo capacity after people and fuel calculated in. 5th wheel tow capacity of 22600.

I am told by dry and by a few lots that have then that the pin weight dry is 3300 and gvw is 19200.

Thanks for any help you might have.
  • No one adds less than 2k to their RV when full timing including propane water and anything else. We have 3k available capacity with ours but it is easy to far exceed that.

When I go back to the factory in May one of the things I will be asking at what stage do they weigh and tag the unit.

    According to the DRV website:

    Length 43' 4" | Est. Dry Weight 19,400 Lbs. | GVWR 23,000 Lbs.

IMHO unless you want to get a MDT the RAM Cummins Aisin 4.10 dually is the only real choice with rear air ride. Yes a 450 would do but you will be adding air bags for sure.

Looking at the Rams last November I found the 4X4s to have a payload capacity of ~5300 lbs which was roughly the same Ford offered in their F350 4x4. I'm not even sure any of the Rams on the lot were equipped with air ride. I also don't believe an F450 will have any more payload per the specs I reviewed.

As far as the weight of a DRV, the 38RSSA we viewed on the lot had a placard listing a ~1950 payload capacity with a GVWR of 19K. Are you suggesting the dry weight is incorrect? While I would agree they're heavy, there's only one person I know who tows 2K over it's rating :)

I am here to tell you the DRV's are heavier then one may think!

My 07.5 35SB3 had a GVR of 17,500# and at the time of trade it weighed about 20K.

Now we ordered a 39TKSB3 MS that had a supposed scale weight at the factory of 18K and a 21K GVR that now weighs about 23K. We did add a 6500LP Gen at the Dealer. Pin weight is 5,500#. IMHO unless you want to get a MDT the RAM Cummins Aisin 4.10 dually is the only real choice with rear air ride. Yes a 450 would do but you will be adding air bags for sure.

Pic without load with AltRide selected and with load of 9,580# sitting on the rear axle.

  • DRV's are pin heavy. You'll be closer to the 5k pin loaded. By the time you add propane and the normal camping stuff, you'll be 21-23k easy.

Go on Suites Owners Forum. Also Thor has an owners forum and go onto the DRV link. They are real heavy. Those numbers are for an empty five.

So the Naples is even heavier than the 19,200# that OP stated the GVW was? As I stated, if it's 19,200#, he has a 3500,that should be OK, IF the 3500 is a Dually

Didn't understand your third sentence , BUT if GVW of the 5er is 19,200#, pin weight could be closer 3800#...Is the 3500 a Dually? With a GVW of 19,200#, you're looking at Dually territory, at least I would.
