Anyone use Eternabond on the vent and antenna mounts?
If you don't have plans to remove them in the future for any reason... - Campfire_TimeExplorerI used 4 in on the end cap of my old Jayco Kiwi 17a. I ended up layering another strip of it. I should have used 6 in.
- mr__edExplorerI would use the 6" Eternabond. I recently sealed my endcaps using 4" wide Eternabond. I laid the strips side by side, overlapping at the edges. The end result was over 6" in width and I feel confident These seams will never leak. For extra protection I also applied dicor sealant along the edges of the tape. Probably overkill and not really necessary but certainly can't hurt.
- Jerry_BExplorerI think I will use the 6 inch tape. I also plan to seal the tape edges with Dicor.
- Jerry_BExplorerIs it necessary to reseal the caulk line along the rain gutter rail?

I would say yes IF visible inspection confirms it is needed. I inspected mine recently and all looks fine... - 83trekkerExplorer

Always check with your trailer dealer or manufacture before adding Eternabond.
We had one new guy add it to his roof of his brand new TT. His TT dealer saw it while doing other warranty work and says it voids the roof warranty. A google has more input on the subject.
If you add Eternabond up there make it look OEM for resale down the road and best function. Youtubes has lots to look at on sealing the EB edges for a OEM look and to keep water from getting under a edge.
What do you mean by "his dealer saw it". The owner of the dealership, a salesman, their service person? The manufacture would determine if it would void the roof warranty. Maybe the company that made the rubber roof. Were they all there looking at it. Kind of a vague statement. - JIMNLINExplorer III

Whoever makes the call is irrelevant. The point is check with the trailer dealer/or mfg first. This guy probably wishes he did.

"A while back, I opened a thread asking whether eterna-bonding the roof seams on an almost-new TT as a preventative measure was a good idea ...the virtually unanimous opinion was 'yes'....
Well, took the TT to the selling dealer today for some minor work...rep. sees the tape job, asks 'why on earth did you DO that'?, and tells me that: a.) it's not necessary b.) it'll trap water if any water ever gets beneath the tape, and c.) any claim under the roof warranty may get kicked on grounds that the roof has been 'modified'....
thought i did the right thing by sealing the seams, but now not so sure...."

Who cares your warranty is void if the dealer does not inspect the roof twice a year anyway!! Eternabond is WAY better opting vs Dicor******they use. Void the warranty see if I care, chances are they won't honour anyway...
