extended warranty

$4300???? Thats an absurdly high price. I paid about $1700 for ours. They had asked $3900 and they kept lowering when I balked. I've made about $1000 in claims so far without issue. I'm one who likes having an extended warranty but only at a reasonable price and from a reputable company that stands behind their warranty.

The two buzz words now days seem to and inclusionary warranty or an exclusionary warranty. Inclusionary means there's a list of what's covered. Exclusionary means its covered unless it's listed.

When I recently bought my new 5th wheel the finance guy kept bragging about how wonderful the exclusionary warranty was. So, I asked him for the list of what was excluded and he kept stalling. When he finally gave it to me I about fell off my chair laughing. I've never seen such a complete list of every part of an RV! What a joke!

I am not totally opposed to a warranty but they just seem like a scam. There's just so much fine print and BS tactics that you can't trust them. Things like covering the mechanical parts but not the electronics. And whenever something goes wrong it was the electronic part that went out and caused the mechanical part to fail.

The factory warranty on my 2014 Lifestyle runs out the end of April. I am getting a 5 year warranty through Wholesale Warranties. Got a quote of $2,900 for a 5 year warranty. with $100 deductible. I have used them before and for me it was money well spent, in fact it saved me money on repairs when I had it. When I purchased the 2014 Lifestyle I cancelled the policy with Wholesale Warranties and got a prorated amount back for over $1,000. Policy works out to $590 a year.
Got a quote from Good Sam and they wanted $1,600 a year.
The bottom line is to shop around and then do what you are comfortable with.

Price seems to high .We have had them on our 06 5th wheel and now our 13 5th wheel and a ESP on the Ford Truck. We have used them. First was a RV shield policy and this one a Good Sam policy. If you got a bad one you probably did not read the contract and understood what you were buying.

Your choice. My choice was to have them.

Self insure its the only way to go. Take that $4300 and put it the bank and after 5 years of no major repairs you'll have money in the bank. Give it to the warranty company anx they'll have it in the bank. They are in the business to make money not lose it. The two warranties I was quoted were around $1200 for five years with a $100 deductible.

its from good sam and has a $100 decuctibke if at a different repair place other than camping wirld and $50 if at camping world
it includes platinum kevel toeing for all our cars and tire and rim setvice if needed

$4300 is an outrageous price for 5 years of warranty. And an extended warranty is only as good as the company behind it and most are not good. I did it once and never used it and it had a full refund clause but the company went out of business so we lost. I won't buy one again.
