Heartland rigs

I am an X Bighorn owner so I can speak for my self, not my neighbor or my grandmas uncle. Heartland is a top notch company. Anyone who says otherwise most likely was having dealer or communication problems. Our '11' Bighorn was flawless and our 06 Bighorn had a some problems that a lying service manager didn't take care off. I fixed them my self. If I could found shorter unit, as we went back to double towing,with our floor plan from Heartand I would have considered one again. Great trailers with a great company.

Also has to do with your lack of real facts...in your original post you stated Heartland uses "particle board"...SOO NOT TRUE!

Heartland uses Weyerhauser OSB (oriented strand board) which is used in many stick built homes in place of plywood, as it is extremely water resistent. If you did some real research you would know there is a major difference between the two!!

We have a 2013 Heartland Landmark San Antonio model. We left Colorado Springs May 1 and went to Soldotna, AK for the summer. Long trip and took our time. We took our time on the return and now we are in Santa Maria California for the winter. We put a freezer where the washer and dryer goes, and still have over a hundred pounds of salmon left.

My unit has had it problems, nothing major, just like anybody's else new rig. I have had good service from the factory customer service. Each dealer repair shop has had its issues. Some good, some bad. I deal first with the factory and follow through with the dealer shop.

My neighbor has a 2013 Big Country and has had no problems, but he only has a 500 miles on his rig. I love his floor plan, but not his level of conponents and finish. I would have jumped up to a Bighorn or Landmark, but its not my business to know his financials, or his taste. He likes his rig and I like mine. I just like a few more bells and whistles. We are both fulltiming, and the 2+5 warranty did play a factor in the decision.

Don't think you won't do a few mods to make it more like home. Look at the mods on this forum.

You are going to spend 10's of thousands of dollars of your hard earned money, so get what you can afford and enjoy. Good luck.

Not blaming justme, could easily be the victim of a not so knowledgeable salesperson...or one that likes to blow smoke. If you can't dazzle them with with brilliance..baffle them with B.S.

Be sure to get all your facts right...Heartland uses 3/8" plywood on the roof not 1/8" The Redwood suspension is Lippert but with a fancy name to make it sound better. Heartland quit using Lippert junk for their suspension a couple years ago and now use Dexter components. Nearly every component on the Redwood trailer is made by Lippert. The Redwood line is sold and built by the Crossroads brand...Take a look @ what's been going on lately with Crossroads and their dissatisfied owners group. Heartland has the best Factory Customer Service of any brand..Heartland offers a factory warranty that will cover it for full-time use. I've been to the factory, seen them built and have been a satisfied Heartland owner for 4 years. Heartland builds the Landmark, Big Horn and Big Country on the same assembly line using similar construction methods and components. All of them are rated for and warrantied for full-time use. Any one of them would be a great choice!

As someone else pointed out, there is no perfect RV...do a really good PDI, make sure ALL systems are working and hooked up, especially water. If you ever need help, the Heartland Forum members are always ready and able to help...Owner's Forum...Enjoy!!

Had a deposit on the Landmark.. All was fine till went back for PDI. Too many problems that should have been taken care of by "the new dealer" in Florida.
We were there about a month before and pointed out problems and nothing was repaired and the kid doing the PDI said he was allowed only one hour so we had to get finished and nothing about when things would be done (no propane to test with, no water, tires were not aired up missing door on overhead storage just to name a few) so just make sure you have a great pdi and do it properly with the check off sheet provided on this and other fourms... Wow I sure wanted the Landmark as did the wife..
Yeti package, outdoor entertainment, full body paint and extended living package.

Thank you everyone for your input. We have pretty much settled on the Landmark Savanna. Now to find a good priced one and move from your Jayco Eagle.. by the way you are correct most of you.. in every brand, there is always that lemon. Everyone I ever spoken to across the USA has loved their Jayco's.. but we got the lemon, and far too many things to mention, to tell all that has happened..However Jayco has always been great to deal with..they went above and beyond.
