- Michelle_SExplorer IIIWhen we were looking for a 5er, we started looking an the Sundance (trying to keep the cost down). When looking at the inside the Saleman when up into the bedroom and could stand up straight and he was shorter than either of us, BIG deal breaker right there. Now they may have changed but at the time we didn't want a bedroom that you couldn't stand up in. We ended up with a Montana
- mdamerellExplorerWe have a 2012 Sundance 3100RB which we are happy with. The Sundance line has the Sundance and the lighter version Sundance XLT which appear to be about 3,500-4,000# lighter on the GVWR (14,000 vs. 10,000#).
I guess the question I'd look at is will the XLT or light trailer last as well as the heavier trailer and what am I giving up for the lighter weight? Tank sizes, insulation rating, fridge size, oven size, # of slides, sqft of floor space, etc... On the Heartland site you can do a side by side comparison between the XLT and comparable non XLT version to see what you give up to save the weight.
There is a bunch of information on the Heartland Owners group forum and Heartland does monitor and answer issues raised in the forums.
Good luck in your search. - deleted-2Explorer

We have a 2012 Heartland Greystone 32RE.
The Sundance line will be taking over the Greystone floorplans for 2014.
The new Sundance models will be the Sundance Platinum series now.
Greystone and Sundance are virtually the same.

Quality? Cheap looking? Average? There is a model 3 hours from the house. Trying to get a feel if it is worth the time to go see.
Mmmm...
Good finish outside.
Some chincy stuff here and there (pretty typical for a mid-line trailer)
Fit and finish inside is superb in my opinion.
Some things as a guy I liked:
Spare tire mounted underneath
Hitch\pin bracket covered with a trim piece
Outdoor speakers
Power awning
Aluminum clad rear bumper
A few booboo items:
Roof ladder feels a little weak for my weight (235#) :(
Broken weather flap inside the stove vent (fixed by Heartland)
Wheel skirt on the roadside bent outward (I got underneath and bent it back)
One cupboard hinge inside had stripped screws (Cried and Heartland fixed it and one other cabinet they found)
50 amp plug cover won't snap shut (still broken)
Not much wrong really.
I think you'll enjoy the mid profile Heartland fifth wheels.
Not top drawer just a little below :)
No regrets here so far... - wrgrs50sExplorerI have a 2012 Sundance 277RL XLT. This has been my experience! Immediately, I had to replace the Tow Max tires because the belts were seperating.I then had to send the unit back to the factory for frame flex in the pin area. After returning it, the closet slide over the pin area was out of square and tearing the rubber seals. I was very dissapointed in the way it was repaired. A board was glued to the bottom of the slide on the side that was out of square.I was told by the dealer that Heartland would not pay to have the slide removed to adjust and shim the rollers that guide the slide underneath. After my warranty expired the living slide room welds broke at the floor. I had to dissassemble and repair that myself. So, my opinion is that if your real good at repairing an RV yourself you can save some money by purchasing a Heartland product. I was sold on the looks and price, but have suffered the consequences of buying the Sundance just for those reasons. Believe it or not, I still am somewhat satisfied at the moment. Just hoping that all the bugs are now found and repaired. Just my experience, I know other owners with few problems.
