If I'm just removing a tire, I put some 6x6's and add'l wood to "close" the gap, unscrew the top of bottle jack till it reaches the middle of frame and crank. If doing more involved work, use same method, but put jackstands near and under frame for safety. 12 ton jack is what I use. Truck is hooked to 5er as well.
