We had the same dilemma. Vinyl vs. Laminate.
Went with laminate so we could replace sections should anything happen. We bought enough for spares.
Vinyl is not a floating floor....our laminate is.
Actually there are many 100% vinyl planks available, all are compatible with wet locations. The majority are floating with click and lock installation. They also are less sensitive to temperature variation, laminate flooring generally requires a 1/2 inch gap
, vinyl only needs 1/4 inch over distances of 70 ft. In small areas like an RV, 1/8 inch gaps work fine and rather than bulky quarter round trim, the small gap can simply be filled with a matching color caulk. This has the advantage of water proofing the edges.
My number 1 suggestion use at least 5mm thick planks (laminate or vinyl), the tongue and groove are more robust to withstand the flexing of an RV.
