Yes..right, no button, but apparently everyone else does. I wonder if that works on all button ovens.

Aha, so you can avoid the button by turning the oven temp up. Neat.
DW actually taught me how to light it. Set the temp and stick the lighter in.I used to do it the stupid way, holding the pilot button and waiting.. - 2oldmanExplorer II

Even with that it was still a one person operation...........

you must not have the horseshoe kitchen or island. There ain't no butt of mine going to sit in front of the oven with the door open when it's only a few inches away from the other cabinets.
I just sit my butt down on the floor, reach in with the long lighter in my right hand and push/hold in the knob with my left. Thirty seconds or less always gets the thermocouple hot enough to hold the flame. From previous threads I never realized so many folks actually use their ovens..... thought I was the only one. How can you do Prime Rib without the oven? :h - dieseltruckdrivExplorer II

What's so hard, the leaning in, or the actual lighting? Do you guys have to press a knob?
I turn my gas on to about 200* and light 'er up.
Same here. DW actually taught me how to light it. Set the temp and stick the lighter in.

Actually SHE told me my way was the stupid way. - Atom_AntExplorer

How hard is it to install in oven?
Installed a lighter also....turn to pilot....hold down push the red button.....so easy.
Got mine @ Walmart....universal for a barbeque. Two screws attached it to the bracket where the gas comes in. Drilled a hole in the faceplate where the knobs are.
