Max rim PSI

The tires are 225/75R15's. I am no where near a scale so I will have to look for one while on our trip. Im going to run the tires at 65psi which will give me 10,160lbs of tire, my max weight is 11k lbs. factoring in the tounge weight of 15% the axels should only see roughly 9,350lbs at max weight.

Good news is I pack very light, I have gotten rid on all my wood blocks and replaced them with Lynx blocks and went through and got rid of a bunch of stuff I dont need in the TH. We also travel with very little water (we fill up as close to our destination as possible). If I were to guess we probably come close to 8-9k lbs fully loaded with our "stuff", including the bikes.

Lowest rated component details the operating conditions and capacity value.

What diameter wheel are we dealing with here-15" or 16"? What size tire? what scaled axle weights? need the data to arrive at any type of informed review.

Maxxis Load/Inflation chart

This chart is an "industry" standard chart for the listed sizes. My experience is that ST class tires have heat related failures when run at minimum load dictated inflation levels. Areas of high temps -this is even more prevalent -like the desert SW.

You won't be "set up properly" until you replace those rims that are CLEARLY NOT RATED FOR E RANGE TIRES. The tire shop did you a dis-service by putting them on those rims. The factor of safety is down to about nil at this point.

I guess what you could do is invest in a TPMS and running them at 65-70 psi if that makes you feel more comfortable. I plan on getting a TPMS here very soon.

Thats what I thought. They have been on this TH for roughly 6 years with no issues but my parents used to use D rated tires. I replaced the old tires with new E rated ones and then noticed the psi rating on the rim. Just trying to figure out what pressure to run. My max weight on the TH is 11k lbs.

Strange that it would have the maximum air pressure but not the maximum weight. :h

Are there any other ratings on the rim, like maximum weight?

Mine lasted about 8,000 miles, so you still have a few miles to go. :)
