Need a bit more payload on Ram 2500.

Your 2500 will handle that weight without any problems at all. I tow with a 2015 2500 Longhorn 6.4l. My TT has a 1204LB. tw at 50" from centerline of the rear end. 3000lbs your truck will be level. Don't buy the 3500. They ride like a lumber wagon and you will miss the significant advantage of the five link coil spring suspension.
