- Dave2001ExplorerI have a 2005 Alumascape model 32skd. It is a very solid unit. Tows great and stays cool in the summertime and warm in the fall and spring. Check the windows to see if they are double pane and tinted. I have had no problems with mine other than a heat strip unit in the air conditioner. Appliances are generally the same or very similar, and used by all manufacturers, so not much difference there.
I do not have any experience with the other brand, but like I said, I am very happy with my Holiday Rambler.
If you go to the Holiday Rambler website you can find info on that model. Takes a little searching as they are only selling motor homes now. Also do a search for the other model and look for a sales brochure. You can then do some comparison before you look at them.
Good luck with whatever unit you pick. - desmondivExplorer

What year model for the Aluma scape? I owned a 2005 31SKT. Traded it in last February. I had less problem with it than I have already had with my new one.
Some things to watch for because it is an orphan is what type are the AC's. Mine were Coleman and Coleman doesn't make RV AC's any longer nor support them. The heater worked through the thermostat in the AC with remote controls. If there was a problem and you had to replace the Ac you would have to make other arrangements for a thermostat.
All in all I was very pleased with this rig.
Looking at a 2006 model. Thanks for the tip on the ACs and the endorsement on the Alumascape! - 12th_Man_FanExplorerWhat year model for the Aluma scape? I owned a 2005 31SKT. Traded it in last February. I had less problem with it than I have already had with my new one.

After one decides on floor plan and over-all looks, I think a close look at suspension, tires, wiring. plumbing, insulation, flooring, roof design, wall design and fit and build. Then what kind of fixtures, appliances and entertainment systems are installed. All mfg's cut corners and the big concern is where. If you are not knowledgeable about the technical aspects of a trailer, I would suggest getting a professional opinion because in the long run the cost will pay for itself. If you make the right decision in those areas you will have many years of happiness.
- GsportExplorerI'd be putting any Grand Design unit on your list..
