- dbob62180ExplorerWhen we first started we went to a local park near our home and checked everything out. We read manuals, made checklists, used appliances, checked for leaks, etc. We went to a local campground when it wasn't very busy and practiced backing in and setting up. We took several short trips, checking to see what we had we really used and what proved to be unneeded. 15 years later, we are still at it and have had very few 'oops' moments. Good luck and enjoy!
- LuvMyNewfsExplorerThank you for all your responses. We chose the Open Road 318 RLS and are very happy with it. Now to get some free to use it! We are total newbies to camping and need practice!
- SailingOnExplorerWe've been very pleased with our OR; it hasn't been back to the dealer, has had no 'first year' glitches that weren't our fault (e.g. if you leave a kitchen drawer open when you close the slide, the slide wins).
A used late model trailer will probably have the bugs fixed; if you can find one with the features you want it's likely a good choice - as long as there are no water leaks. - PenManExplorerWhen we were looking for a new TT it came down to Jayco or Open Range. We ended up with the Open Range and have not regretted our choice at all. We love our Open Range. I know you are looking at a 5er but the same build quality in both.

We have a 2015 Open Range Roamer which we love. We looked at the 'light' series but decided it wouldn't be a good buy for full timing. However, as a brand we have been pleased with our dealer and Highland Ridge. (They are now owned by Jayco). We have had the inevitable 1st year hiccups but no major problems so far!
Thank you, I have read many good reviews on the Open Range line. I am a Jayco fan as well and had read they were Jayco owned and forgot! The Open Range model I really like a lot it seems like a great unit, I haven't been able to find too many reviews or comments on the Sundance XLT. - dbob62180ExplorerWe have a 2015 Open Range Roamer which we love.
