Couple things to add...
For changing your own flat tire, particularly for those who are not mechanics, driving the good tire up on blocks until the flat tire is suspended is probably the easiest and safest method.
Jack locations for those with torsion style axles (no leaf springs) may be different. I've never owned one of those.
