Mark,
After we received our new unit in 08, we changed our service with Dish to have a DVR as we were full time. When the Dish guys first came, they had problems getting a clear signal to the TV in the rear den and the bedroom, both. They sorted out what cable went where, and it was not labeled right from the factory. They traced the coax out, connected it and bingo all has worked right since. They did have to do a little "southern" engineering, to have the TV in bedroom working as the second TV with the DVR in the den, but it has for 6 years. Basically, you can disconnect both ends of your coax, short out one end and ohm out the coax to check if it good or not. If it is good, try connecting that piece to the equipment and see what you get. If it is not good, it is not easy but changing it out can be done. Most of the time it is run in the roof. But, if your outside connection is in the outside utility closet, you can go down. You have to remove the underbelly panels to where your entertainment system is, then go back up. You might want to run an extra cable, for just in case, LOL. Just thinking, you might want to put anything else think you might need inside the underbelly.
Hope this helps God bless,
Mike
