Actually, we've got a new game plan as of this morning.
Rather than leave the old wood with what surely must have a mildewed, wet back side, along with all the soggy insulation underneath, and possibly damaged studs... and then try to deal with tucking the new EPDM under the front fiberglass fascia when it's 1/8" higher than it's supposed to be,
we're going to pull out the old wood, use it as a template to cut out fresh, new, properly sized untreated (and uncoated with old adhesive) plywood.
While that's being done, another worker will pull the old insulation, air everything out real good with a squirrel cage blower, repair any studs, try to take out the roof sag that developed with the leaks under the heavy ac unit, replace the insulation with fresh, dry, non-stinky new stuff.
Then we'll put the new wood on and apply the EPDM according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
I think this will be just about as easy as trying to deal with the mess and have a smelly, mildewy camper.
I doubt it will add more than a day to the project and probably a few hundred bucks on top of trying to cover everything up with 1/8" luan.
