Sanitizing fresh water, how do you get bleach in the tank

We used funnel to pour bleach into hose connected to trailer, connected hose to faucet and turned on water to fill fresh water tank.

Hi Jim. I have a new Solitude 305 RE. I had the same dilemma. The Solitude manual describes the process - basically, you put several gallons of water with Clorox (1/4 cup Clorox per gallon of water) in a large water jug; attach a clean hose (manual cautions against using your fresh water hose; set your water valve to city water fill, and siphon the water from the container into your fresh water tank. Fill remainder of tank with fresh water - let it set for several hours; dump; rinse; go for it. Hope this helps. I have the Anderson Kantleak valve system - not sure what you have. I use Chlorinating Granules. Can find them at swimming pool or spa supply, even Wal-Mart. One (1) teaspoon into the hose, hook hose to inlet and fill tank. One teaspoon is good for my 100 gallon water tank. Turn off water heater. When tank has been filled, turn off water supply, turn on pump. Let all faucets, both hot and cold run until you smell the chlorine. Let stand for 24 hours. Drain tank. Fill with fresh water and then flush system. Being sure to flush water heater tank. Works very good for me.

Um folks, on this kind of RV, there is no filler hole that you can stick a funnel in.

That's how I do it, and it sterilizes the hose also.

It's clear that many don't understand that you have no fresh water fill like on older rigs. Your main way of getting fresh water is from the shore water source (faucet). That's why you have to have special way to add in water from another source. See my link a few post back. rockin'

I just pour it in from the bottle. It must depend on your tank setup, easy on mine.

The empty hose and filter base were my thoughts originally. thanks guys.

We use our water filter base, but bleach in minus filter then run into tank.
