Lets be nice here. The OP is from the diesel pusher world. He probably has very little experience in the 5th wheel side of RV'ing. He is asking for help. Lets just offer some help for him?
Ventrman...welcome to the 5th wheel world. It gets better. But it is quite a bit different than the MH side.
Thanks for the nice Welcome. - MFLNomad IIGood to hear you are getting things squared away! People could have been a little nicer concerning the Titan.
The Ford will open up a lot more hitch possibilities for you! Congrats on the new to you truck!
If you give more details on the Ford, I'm sure you will find people to be more helpful.

The Titan does NOT come in 3/4 ton trim. I'd like to see where you're getting this from. Please prove me wrong. Just because some owners think it is overbuilt and under rated does not make it a 3/4 ton truck. A 1500lbs payload also does not make it a 3/4 ton truck. There are lots of trucks out there that have over 2000lbs payload but are still 1/2 ton trucks and even 3/4 tons that have less than 2k payloads. There is a lot more to a 3/4 ton truck than just payload. There are some pretty ridiculous claims going on at the Titan forums too.
I stand corrected, the Salesman lied to me and told me that it was a 3/4 Ton. He also told me that he would be there the next Day. He was not there.
When I confronted them about the Deception the next Day on the Truck and him not being there like he said he would, they told me he was not there because of a Dr's Appointment. I told them, I am sure that he knew about the Dr's Appointment when he told me the Night before that he would be there.
We then purchased a F250 after my Mechanic checked it out. That also cost them some Money. The rear Fuel Tank was empty, when I bought it.
They gave my Wife back the Car we were using as a Trade-in. When we got up yesterday, we discovered they had taken the License Plate off of her Car so we headed back to the Dealership to get the Plate. On the Way, I put a little Fuel in the rear Tank on the F250.
We got the Plate, and took the Truck shopping. When we came out of the Store, the Manager showed us where the rear Fuel Tank was leaking Fuel like a Sieve directly on the Tail Pipe.
They called the Fire Dept. The Fire Dept. People advised us not to drive it.
I called the Dealership and they sent someone to pick us up. They had to call a Wrecker. They are having to fix the Leak because by Law, they cannot sell an unsafe Vehicle. When we got back to the Dealership, the Salesman could not apologize to us enough. I imagine they chewed him out pretty good. They then had to take us 30 Miles home and travel 30 Miles back. I figure it serves them right because of the Deception. - VulcaneerExplorer

We just purchased a 2006 Forrest River sierra. For one, thing we were blessed to be able to buy it with the one Payment Plan. I absolutely LOVE the Slides. It has one in the Living Room and One in the Bedroom. Now we can walk around the Bed. We could not do that in the Motorhome.
I hope that's not what you plan on towing with a Titan. Even the smallest one (285RL) has a DRY pin weight of 1920lbs! Once it's loaded it will even push the payload limits of some actual 3/4 ton trucks. - N-TroubleExplorerI have a hard time recommending a hitch to someone who actually thinks their 1/2 ton is a 3/4 ton truck.
O.P. first needs to come back down to earth... - VulcaneerExplorerYour Titan may be suitable for a very light 5th wheel. But payload will be the issue. When evaluating payload take into account the hitch weight, the passenger and driver weights, any additional items being carried, and of course the pin weight of the trailer.
You need the lightest hitch possible. Any good manual slider. Don't try an automatic slider. Too heavy.
Since a fivers pin weight is typically approx. 20% of the trailers weight, you might be looking at a gross 5TH wheel trailer weight of 4,000 to 5,000 pounds. That is with the 5'r fully loaded and "camp ready." Do NOT calculate on DRY WEIGHT specs.
Depending on your selected trailer, you might find a "Tow behind" travel trailer will provide more living space and remain under your trucks capability. If you want a fiver it will need to be very small for that truck. Otherwise, you will need a larger truck. Your Titan will not carry the weight of most typical 5th wheels. I don't know of any 3/4 tom Titans on the road. Based on the below post, you may need a bigger truck.

I would agree based on this article. If you think just because the "payload' is over 1,500# it is a 3/4 ton you are also wrong. If that was the standard my Daughters Honda Ridgline would be 3/4 ton!

I have a 3/4 Ton 2012 Nissan Titan Truck. Are there any recommendations as to what Hitch I need? It is a short bed. i would like some kind of automatic slider Hitch.
Surely this is a joke. Nissan does not offer a 3/4 ton pick up.
