I chose to spend that TPMS money on the best tires I could find .
Besides I always have downtime in the campsite to check my PSI all the way around .
Enroute at every gas stop and outlook break I walk around the trailer and feel the heat in my tires .
A low tire will always be hotter than the others .
As most do I check the tires thoroughly before every trip .
My dollars are better spent putting the best four on the ground .
The spare can be junk .
It has never been used .
What type of tires do you use? We have a 30 ft. Excel 5th wheel and just put cooper 10 ply on. Our first long haul trip will be this July from SW Nebraska to Lena Wisconsin. (No Interstate travel and plan on only about 300 miles a day) Never pulled it more than 100 miles from home before. We have a goose neck hitch on our 30ft. Excel. Our first 36 footer blew a tire 22 miles from home first time we took it out. Our sescond 26 footer blew a tire 20 miles from leaving the dealer. Our new Excel blew a tire on second trip to our lake at gate entrance 22 miles from our home. Just a little tire gun shy on this long haul trip.
