I've been running Goodyear Marathons tires for years with no problems. What is key for any tire is to make sure you purchase the correct load rating tire to match your trailer weight.
I gotta ask are they US Made Marathons? - FastEagleExplorer

Anyone have a good recommendation on a fiver trailer tire
You should follow the recommendations of your trailer manufacturer.

If you search the forums, you will generally see these answers:
16" or bigger, go to LT tires:
- Goodyear G614 - expensive but have guarantee to fix your RV if a blown tire damages it?
- Michelin RIBS
- Sailun S637 - less expensive but people are having good luck with them
- Bridgestone Duravis R250
15" or smaller, stay with ST tires (limited max speed to 65 mph):
- Maxis M8008 - reliable, good track record on the forums
- Carlisle Radial Trail RH - the new design seems to have solved the problems you see on the forums from several years ago
You just happen to be a fellow Utahan-but this is the best post I have seen in a tire thread since I have been on this board.
Congrats!
Post!
Here are some good and bad reviews:

I think the jury is still out. Not enough in use and not enough years under their belts(sic)! The Radial Trail HD might be a better ST tire than the Maxxis, but more time is need to prove it!
No one seems to be reporting on how they are holding up on 6750 and 7K axles. Or if anyone is even using them heavily loaded on larger trailers.

You have a very light bumper pull trailer(1200-1300 on each tire), yet repeatedly post on the 5th wheel section recommending tires for rigs much bigger and heavier than yours. I would expect the Marathon or any other ST tire to do just fine on a trailer the size and weight of yours.
Putting your rig in your sig line would gave people a reference to judge your recommendations by.
Chris - gmw_photosExplorerIf 15", the Goodyear Cargo G26 seems to be an option for those wanting to use an LT rather than staying with the typically fitted ST.

Where is your info??????? - avvidclif1ExplorerTo Chris:
I used the 16" E Radial Trail on my last 2 trailers(same set). While not heavy it weighed 11k+ and I had no problems in 10k mi. I will probably put them on my new one which will put a load on them, no scaled weight yet but guessing at 13.5-14k. Shipping was 12.8k. - Me_AgainExplorer III

Two 7K axles and ST tires, good luck with that! I would be looking at GY G614's or Sailun S637 if it was mine. But hey you can keep us informed on how it is working over the next few years. I would at least get the LRF ones and only tow at 60 MPH like CKNSLS. But TH guys tend to be weekend warriors and always in a hurry. Chris - bluka43ExplorerI personally switched from ST to LT tires this past summer. Besides the original Chinese tires on my FW, I have had tires fail me 4 times on 2 completely different sets of GY Marathons ST235/80/16 E, that I had replaced the originals with. (Not once but twice) How stupid is that? All of the failures were belt separations, luckily caught during trips but parked or pulling out of RV parks. Belt separations are fairly easy to spot if you check your tires carefully enough. It seems very obvious to me that something is wrong due to all of the complaints, some horror stories, you read on these forums. When loaded for travel my FW is well within max load according to Cat scales.
No more ST tires for me. I replaced them with LT Bridgestone Duravis R250. I went with a different size tire to be able to match tire height.
See the table below for tire specs of GY Marathon vs Bridgestone
Duravis especially noting the weight of both tires.

You know Chris-it sounds like your "softening a little bit". I would say that anybody running 12,000 pounds and under are OK with a Good ST tire with the proper ratings. At this point my choices are (in no particular order) Maxxis, Carlise RH, and Tow max.
Anything over 12,000 pounds they should look at your recommendations.
However, I still maintain no one has any business pulling much over65mph IMHO. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Was I to "MUCH" over 65?
