Transfer switch

Bare ground wires (power cord inlet and main panel) plus generator green ground wire go to the common ground bar.
Then using a separate wire you ground that common grd. bar (and transfer box) to frame

Can anyone help me out a little, I'm having troubles with the grounds.

2 of the grounds are a solid copper And the one from the generator is a green coated ground wire.
Where do I wire the ground to and where is the ground to chassis go?

Not to sure on what would be running off a 2 pole but I'm in the process of replacing the box .

That looks like an overloaded neutral. Not being familiar with your trailer, is anything running on a 2 pole breaker?

You can clearly see where the neutral wire from the shore power is burnt

In the second picture, button right that strip with 4 lugs is that where I run my 3 ground wires to?

Wiring looks fairly simple as I look at it and everything is basically already labeled. One I will need to clean up the melted insulation and neutral wire from the shore cord. 2. I'm a little confused on The way they are saying to mount the box., manual is saying the box can't be installed long side horizontal It is taller then the old one and the old one fits mounted into some metal backing. The new one won't fit there so will it be okay to mount it a few inches above on the carpeted osb material. Lastly the manual is saying 35 in.lbs at the bonding plug. Then it's saying 20 in. Lbs at the wire contactor. Is the contactor where all the wires will be going?

IIRC that is why keystone recalled them.......

Issue in my opinion isn't with transfer switch being faulty just faulty installation. Installers (not techs) just wired them up and didn't properly torque the screws down. Wires loosen causing arching/hotspots and wire insulation melted. (45 inch/lbs)
But some accounts indicate switches were faulty.

Install wires into terminals..........tighten screws

then after all wiring is done go back and retorque.


Now would also be a good time to check/tighten all wire connections in your AC Panel...circuit breakers, neutral/ground bus bars
AND converter battery cable connections.

I'd rather be safe then sorry and buy the parts and change it myself rather then just use the trailer anyways for our trip and have something happen. Not to mention that as I speak I looked in the old switch and the insulation on the green wire is melted!
