- Bamaman11ExplorerYou might find some hotshotters that'll tow for you. Many RV dealers have people contracted to tow used units around--when they don't tow their own. I'd suggest starting by checking for your local dealership.
My local mechanic has a hotshot trailer that he makes 200 miles runs as a part time, middle of the night job. - BB_TXNomadSome towing companies can move one for you. Several years ago my previous truck died on the interstate. Towing company sent two trucks, roll back to take the truck to a dealer and a pickup with 5th wheel hitch to take the 5er to local RV park.
- This past April , I was having truck issues and my camper was sitting in a campground in VA... They were full for the weekend as it was race weekend , and my trailer had to be moved..I talked to the local RV dealership - Mac Georges Rolling Hills RV.. They sent a tech on his lunch break to move it the 20 miles I needed.. They told me to square up with him.. It was the best $50.00 spent that weekend..
- AllworthExplorer IIFrequently somebody in a dealer's service shop will be willing to freelance on the weekend for a few bucks. No insurance, no bond, no guarantee.
- gearboxExplorerI'm just asking for a friend. He has a 5th wheel but it's parked and no truck to tow with right now so he was asking me if I knew any place and thought I would ask around
- the_bear_IIExplorerYour best bet is to hire one of the RV transporters. They advertise in Craigslist or Uship.com
Or if you can find a fellow RVer that will lend you their truck. - bpoundsNomadI looked for the same thing before I bought my fiver, and really didn't find anything at the major rental outlets. My reason for looking was, I didn't know anyone that owned a fiver, and what if my truck broke down and I needed help to get my trailer home? The kind of thing a new owner might worry about. I really didn't find anything commercial that was reassuring.
You can find guys who will move fivers for you. You can even find them on Craigslist or the yellow pages. RV dealers can also probably hook you up with references. I'm not sure why you need this service, but you might even find someone here on RV.net that would help you move your rig in an emergency. - Ryder Truck Rental... Penske Truck Rental... BUT you may need to have a company account with either or both of them... They both have SAT's ( Single Axle Tractor) DAY CAB's on their lot. You would need to find a commercial facility , not one of those sub-lots like a local gas station.. AND insurance would be a whole other issue.. Good Luck
- 2oldmanExplorer III do'nt know of any rental anywhere that doe's that.
