Weekend warrior 3400 fs wiring

I was curious if anyone had a wiring diagram for a 06 weekend warrior 3400 fs? I just bought one and the overhead interior lights, and outside lights quit working. All the rest of the 12v seems to be working just those 2 sections of lights. I checked both 12v fuse panels and seem to have power going in and out of the fuse blocks. Any diagrams or help would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

don't you just hate it when that happens? I'll bet you've got a bad connection somewhere though and it will fail again.

    good luck!

  • You might have a bad ground. Everyone forgets that the ground is via the "skin" on the 12v side and probably the fixture closest to the panel is the one grounded and the rest run back to that ground via one wire. Since it mysteriously came on when you walked out its possible you jostled the rig enough to temporarily make the ground.

I've chased electrical gremlins many times only to find it was just a bad ground.
  • Just sharing my experience, not bashing. I actually really like my WW. I've never seen a wiring diagram and I bought the 2006 model new in 2005.

On mine I had an issue where the installers (I may use the word idiot later because it's shorter) wired using the layout for a regular FS. My trailer is an FSC, so the refer is on the door side with the 12v access panel underneath, then as you go forward it's the water heater, then the furnace, then the water pump (inside access only) and then the under bed storage.

I found that all the wiring was originally terminated over the water heater by the idiots and then spliced using crimp style connectors and run to the 12v panel. Over time I have had to fix both the refer (direct run now) and the feed to the stove hood controls (Water pump, water heater...). They were pinched inside the wall between the heater and the extensions to the 12v panel. It's not easy but it can all be accessed by removing internal and external covers.

I suspect in your case you have a loose connection somewhere, unfortunately you will have to follow the lines. I would start with the switch, they probably use a single feed from the fuse block to feed all the switches at the door so if you have problems with multiple lights that's most likely it.

Good luck finding the gremlins, I bought a 12v test light just for the trailer and rigged a 20 foot cable with alligator clips for the ground so I can use it anywhere to test 12v.
  • That's what I was scared of hearing lol.

Yea everything else in the interior works, all the under cabinet lights, and every other light on the interior for that matter. Just the ceiling lights and the 2 outside side lights. I checked all the fuse panels and tested everything and it all tested good. I have not taken the fixtures out or the switches out yet, that's my next step.

But here's a real kicker. Last night working on it, I gave up and went in the house. About a hour or 2 later, my wife asks why I left the trailer lights on (the ones that weren't working). I look out there and sure enough, they were on, I must have left the switch on after giving up. I'm not dumb enough to think for a second that the problem is fixed, so that just means I'm chasing a intermittent problem now... Lovely

Sounds like 1 circuit is not get power.

Just a few things to check...

I'd double check all fuse panels and the 12v disconnect switch for poor connections, blown fuses, etc... Sometimes a fuse looks good but when tested is bad, use a meter.

Also check all connections at the battery for wires not connected properly.

If you do find a wire diagram, please post it, as I've been looking for 1 for a while now...

  • Very slim chance of finding a factory wiring diagram, most RVs of that era were slapped together so fast they had really no idea where things ran.

Do any of the interior lights work? It's possible that the wiring came loose at some point. If you remove the light fixture can you follow the wires? Pull gently to see if they might be disconnected. Have you tested each light fixture to see if there is power? If possible trace to see which fixture is the closest to the fuse panel.

If you haven't swap the fuse to that section.

Above the ceiling is usually enough room to use a hand held mirror to see along the roof, might see if you can follow any of the wiring.
