- ScottGNomadAlso to answer your second question, No, a regulator will not lower the pressure further than its set point even if the input pressure is only 40psi.
- gmc6000ExplorerMaybe someone can enlighten me on this. All the newer RV's are being built using PEX tubing for water lines (same as in the new houses)which are rated for 160 psi. Even the older polyethylene tubing used years ago was good for at least 100 psi. I have yet to run across a water system higher than 70 psi. So why do people insist on using a PRV?
- steelpony5555ExplorerDon't use one and havn't for some time now. I stay in larger parks and doubt they have a major problem with pressure or they would not be in business. Many of these leaks and blow outs are weak spots in the RV, not because there was excessive pressure. Maybe someday I will find that park with 80 psi of pressure and will spring a leak and start using one,,,,maybe.....
- tvman44ExplorerAlways !!!!
- wandering1ExplorerUse it every time. A pressure regulator will not drop the pressure lower than what it is set for.
- liberty2010Exploreranytime you use a hose.
I leave the regulator on the primary hose even when in transit (rolled up in the bay) - JEBarExploreragree .... for CG's with their own wells, pressure can vary widely with number of campers and how many are running water at any given time .... if our camper is hooked up to water, the pressure regulator is in place
Jim - seleExplorerwater pressure will vary depending on when pumps and well kick on, amount of usage at any given time, even the height of water in the water tower thus the regulator will protect against the spikes in pressure.
- Javi1ExplorerAlways...
- I too use one now all the time... Got full of myself and skipped it a few times last year... Got to a CG that evidently had very high pressure and DW saw the warning signs but did not think I needed to know.. Sprung a leak...won't forget mine again !!! Like already stated.. If it is high.. It will lower it... If it is low..it will stay low..Joe
