- simsfmlyExplorerWe store things in our oven, but we also use our oven (with a pizza stone in it to help things cook more evenly) probably once a week. Convection oven and Microwave is good for a lot of things, but there are certain things (like the pizza we baked tonight) that the oven is just better.
As others have said, personal preference, but we're glad we have one. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIWe used an oven in our home on an irregular basis. Our RV has no oven but it does have a convection / microwave oven and we cook everything we ever cooked in our oven in this unit. Can't do everything? Maybe that's true but we have yet to encounter that problem. We have cooked a full blown Thanksgiving dinner including a whole turkey (small, of course) and stuffing, yams (Apple Mallow Yam Yums) and crescent rolls. The results are as good or better than a conventional oven due to the convection air which is not available from a standard oven.
It's only been 17 years that we have been cooking our meals in our RV so you may or may not find that this setup works for you. - twins89ExplorerI would carry less and keep the oven. I use mine a lot for a variety of dishes and in the cooler weather it takes the chill out of the camper while it is baking something.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIWe FT for 7 yrs and used the oven a lot.
So it really depends on each persons preference.
We put a 12" unglazed tile in bottom and it made the oven cook evenly - Teacher_s_PetExplorerNo oven here, our Tiffin Phaeton of '06 has a convection microwave only. We use a true "toaster/oven" combo by Hamilton Beach to do things that really require broiling...in our case the only things that need that so far in 9 years has been frozen Texas Garlic Toast and bagels. We bake many things in our Sharp Carousel Convection Microwave, cakes, lasagne, cookies, pies, casseroles and the like. A slow cooker comes in very handy as a fulltimer. BTW the 2004 Trail-Lite 213 B+ came without an oven also, it has an Apollo 1/2 Time oven, which is also a type of MW/Convection oven.
- Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIIf you use an oven in your stick and brick home why on earth would you not use it in the RV? :h RV ovens make for lousy storage, they are small and when loaded tend to rattle like crazy. I need a working oven a lot more than shoe box sized additional storage. In our RV whether we are out for 3 days or 3 months I cook and we eat exactly like we do at home..... and that is very well. :B
- robsouthExplorer IIWe use our oven every time out. I don't really know why others don't. Personal choice I guess. Can't really think of any other reason not to use the oven.
- bobjogoneExplorerBread Machine for Bread. Large toaster oven for other. We volunteer most of the time and they pay for electricity so would rather use that then propane oven.
- stickdogExplorerWe use ours several times a week, some will never use it.
- GemstoneExplorerFulltiming since '06, and only use the oven for storing pots and pans. A convection-M/W will bake bread, pizza, cakes, brownies, cook meat...everything you can do in an oven...except roast a 20 pound turkey.

Gemstone
