Good Sam ESP Gold - Denied Claim

I have an extended service plan gold with Good Sam. I have a 2007 Fleetwood Southwind on a 2006 Ford Chassis. I am currently in Virginia and having rear axle problems which Good Sam extended service claim is seeming to deny. Coverage includes the drive axle assembly for front and rear drive axle assembly includes but is not limited to the following differential housing; transaxle housing; final drive housing; and all internally lubricated Parts their of; plus axle shafts; constant velocity joints; universal joints; driveshafts, supports, retainers, and bearings and hub bearings. Good Sam says that I should have had the drive axle serviced but service is not called on for the rear axle until it reaches a hundred thousand miles.

  • Maloneyjir - let us know what happens and if your being contacted personally by the Good Sam Care Team gets your work approved.
  • That service schedule for severe or heavy duty or normal...or no difference between schedules?
  • Well of course they denied it. A quick search of of GS complaints will quickly tell you that.

ScottG - where did you find these complaints?

Just type in "Good Sam extended warranty complaints" or "Good Sam problems" in any search engine, and you'll get so many hits your head may explode. You could aslo just type it in the search feature of this forum.
  • A few days before I bought my 2006 F53 chassis motorhome, with 28K miles on it, the rear failed. The dealer spent $4400 for a total rebuild at a truck shop. The cause was a failed bearing that ate the differential. I had similar failure on a 2 year old F-250 Diesel. Just my experience, but waiting for 100K on the ODO before you properly maintain that rear is looking for trouble. I do mine every three years, or fifty thousand. The labor and the crazy expensive OEM gear oil were still only about 4% of the cost of rebuilding the thing. Cheap insurance. Good luck, and remember, the cash you would of spent on an extended warranty, tucked away in a savings account, is going to be a much better investment than buying the warranty, 99.9% of the time.
