Good Sam Roadside had me waiting in this hot weather

My main question is there any service out there that is known for great service? Well had to use my good sams roadside for the first time today on my F250,I leave in the Memphis area so its not like i was way out in the country, i switched from AAA hoping for a better experience but not to be. It started with me using the app on my phone and made the call was put on hold for 5 min saying nobody available please hold, another 3 minutes past and finally got a great lady that was very nice and said can I have your name and number, i said didnt the app fill all that in she said it works sometimes, anyway she got me all set up and said i can hang up and will get a text of who is coming. this was 10:02 am, got the text at 10:04 that's pretty good but the wait time said be there at 11:27 am 1.5 hrs in 90 degree weather, 11:30 comes I call and get on hold again and then get to a person and tells me to call the tow company so I did and they said he is on the way should be there shortly, call them again at 12 he is close he had to drop another load first, what so i am on a waiting list now. keep story short and they finally showed up at 12:35 that's 2.5 hrs of waiting in the hot sun. my subscription is almost up now I may look at some of the others listed on here.

  • Ok , thanks again for the comments and I know all about the roads out in Big bend and marfa and monahans, my wife grew up in Alpine so i feel for you out on those roads. I am with you on getting a new truck but I love the Amarillo version, you can see it in my photo. My f250 just would not start and would just turn over and over. its at the shop now so once I find out I will post back her. I am just glad to be back in a house with AC.
  • Maybe time to replace that 10 year old tow vehicle - you never did say why you needed them
  • About 10:00 am on a Sunday morning in the Texas desert between Marathon and Big Bend National Park my outside rear tire tread let loose.. No cell service. Border Patrol just happened by within minutes of pulling off the road. He relayed my GSRS info to headquarters via radio. About three and a half hours later a roadside service truck pulled up (he came from 80 miles away) and a half hour after that, I was back on the road. Now THAT is GREAT service!!!
  • thanks again everyone, just wanted you to know that Darren did call me personally and got my feedback and information, was i happy with the service and wait times no was i happy with the chance to give my feedback and a chance to help them get better yes for sure. he was very gracious and i could tell he wanted the feedback and I am sure he will look into my situation for this day. These days you cant beat good customer service and I will give them that and I hope it will make them better for the next time one of us need them, thank you Darren for the quick response and being open to my comments. Now I just hope my truck dont cost me an arm and a leg. I have a big camping trip for the 4th and dont want to miss that. Safe travels everyone.
  • Frankly, about a 2 to 3 hour wait will be about average wait for roadside assistance within any metro area.
  • thanks everyone, did not expect or was i looking for them to respond but that is very cool and that gives them back some respect for customer service, i will respond to him. if anything i can give them good same day customer feedback to help make them better.
