In many states the cost of camping in a state park is about half or less of what a private facility costs. How much more of a discount do people need?
Not any more. Some state parks are at over $30 a day. Ad up to around $40 for just electric and water if you are lucky.
Agree. We're heading up to the AZ high country tomorrow to a state park and it was $95 for 3 nights, about the same as the private campgrounds in the area. I'm willing to pay a premium in a state park if I know the funds are being put to good use. When we were up in Colorado a few weeks ago at Ridgway State Park, I read that the park is able to keep about 95% of its revenue and put it to direct use in that facility. And it was noticeable how well that was working. - wbwoodExplorer

- eubankExplorerParks have to pay Good Sam in order to be part of the network and provide the discount to you. It is very doubtful that state or other public parks would want to or be allowed to pay a company like Good Sam in order to provide a discount to you.

If by paid handsomely you mean a monumentally small percentage compared to what is currently being paid by a younger generation to support the government's ponzi scheme, then yes, you keep on cashing my social security checks that won't be there when I retire. - robsouthExplorer III vote for Eycom for president! I am in total agreement with you.

You've got that right...and though I'm a geezer myself I object to the practice and never take advantage of such "discounts"....

Government, both federal and particularly my State made that pact with it's citizens long ago and I have no qualms, whatsoever, in enjoying the benefits thereof today.
Yes, but Eycom, some people are holier than thou and I. :W
OP, in answer to your question, I have never seen any government parks give a Good Sam discount. - EycomExplorer
