GoodSam RA

Well, after reading all the negative comments here; I am going to give my experience from a year ago. GoodSam Roadside Assistance called at about 1PM on a Saturday because I had a rear inside tire blowout, I made it a mile to a rest area and called. Less than one hour later I was back on the road with my spare tire installed. Don't know that I could have done any better on my own if I had all the tools.
Anyways, I know folks don't generally post their good experiences so I decided to. I'm sure there are circumstances where problems can occur.

  • Count me in as another satisfied GS customer. I've used the service several times over the years for everything from a dead battery to lockout service to having our 40' Dynasty towed and have never been disappointed with the results.
  • People are quick to bash GSRA because all we read about are negatives. Those that have no gripes have no need to post complaints. This phenomenon leads many to mistakenly believe that every GS call is a disaster.
    I'm not claiming GS is perfect or does not screw up. But I do believe this forum gives a skewed negative view that is really not totally accurate.
    GS may successfully complete 100 tows in a day. However the 101'st tow gets screwed up somehow. All we read about on this forum is the screwed up 101'st tow.
    We hear nothing mentioned of the 100 successful transactions.
    In general we know GS is far from perfect. (But what business is perfect ...besides "Chick Fil A" ...LOL!)
    But the GS sky is not completely falling as some here would want us to believe.

    I've also had very good luck with GS ERS over the years.


    Good news and bad news!!!!!
    My negative experience--- my clutch went bad when towing my 5th. wheel, I coasted into a state Rest Area. I then called GS Road Side service. I was told that they would only tow my truck or 5th wheel but not both because I was not parked on the interstate hwy.5 which was 30 ft. from the Rest area. I asked that if I pulled out back on the I-5 hwy. 20 yards away, then you would tow both, the answer was "yes". I contacted a tow service on my own who towed both. I called Good Sam customer service the next morning and was told that was absolutely not GS's policy and the service person was totally wrong . He emailed me a reimbursement form, I received a check for $875 in 5 days. :(:(
