I just renewed my basic GS membership, since it, without notice, had expired. After your post, I went into my account to review the settings. I guess the most amazing part of the whole situation is that a company that's this big, isn't aware enough to monitor their own performance. If you spend an extended period of time, bombarding a customer with junk mailings and e-mails, and receive absolutely no positive response, how smart is it to continue harassing the same individual? At some point intelligent companies catch on to the fact that junk mailing is going the way of VCRs and flip phones. My local post office ends up with hundreds of pounds of junk mail, filling the recycling bins, and stacks high on every flat surface, every day! The best days are when phone books get delivered. There are hundreds of them laying all over, as a huge percentage of the box holders have no interest in dragging them home.

Righty or wrong IMHO the problem with CW in general is consistency. One store is very good, one mediocre, and another bad. It is a******shoot when approaching a store.

Part of this could be the expansion and unhappy employees of the previously independent sores being taken over by CW. I have seen this condition personally.

Telephone banks are just too expensive and the waits to get someone get long and customers just get angrier. If they did have one it would most likely be int he Philippines or India and you would still get the same kind of non-answers.

As for Marcus on the forums...well any CEO is a very busy guy and has to ask himself all the time if what he is doing is the most productive thing he can do for the company. I certainly don't expect Marcus to answer my issues...however I do expect Real Answers...which many folks often do not get.

I do think that he might be smart to hold online "town Hall" type meetings to take questions on the forum (in real time)maybe once a month or quarter.

My sense is there is a lot more dissatisfaction lurking out there with GSE than is apparent on this forum. Customer Focus should be a big concern at GSE about now.

The "conduit for complaints" is a fairly new thing for the forum. The ask Marcus section was added recently. The original intent of the forum was without that for information exchange between RVers

They should cancel this forum, hire a answering service in India, employ 1 person to answer complaints, put you on hold for weeks, and they would be inline with other RV dealers.

sounds like a prelude to a protest march.

This statement (or one very like it) appears under each "ASK MARCUS" topic heading:

Ask Marcus if you have questions, concerns or praise about Good Sam Insurance.

I think that is pretty clear that they are asking for complaints and problems despite being stated in the usual polite corporate speak so as to not admit there may be "problems", instead "Concerns" is used.

There are couple places to change the settings. If you have used more than 1 email in the past, or have more than 1 account, you have to remember all of them and change them on all accounts. If not, you will continue to receive some of it.

If you have Good Sam Membership, log in or create an online account.
After you login, in the upper right corner, select "My Account".
Under "GO TO", select "Subscriptions".
You should see your email addresses associated with your account, if it is not there, add it, and uncheck anything you don't want email or snail junk mail on.
Don't forget to save it.


GSERS also has a place to remove the stuff you get.

Log in or create your GSERS online account.
Once you get logged in, on the right hand side, look for "Email Preferences".
Click on "Email Preferences", and add all email addresses you have used with GSERS.
Uncheck any stuff you don't want via email or snail mail.
Save it and you should be good.

It may take a few weeks for it to completely stop, but it does.

I always as a matter of course opt out of any and all emails and ads on every site I sign up to.

I did this when I joined. Months have passed not weeks.

There should be ONE central place to opt out for all of GSE.
