KOA/Allstate Motor Club and blood pressure

OMG!!!! What a joke it can be if it weren't so serious as a failure of customer service and communications between the customer and AMC. It even gets worse once the call gets dispatched to a contracted vendor and begins to roll down hill like a snowball headed for well you know where.

Over the weekend I posted a tire repair question dealing with GSRA. Received some speculation replies then followed up with a post my Zach to drop him a PM should I need further assistance.

Then I got to thinking, I just recently signed up with GSRA and still had my membership with KOA-Allstate which I have been a dues paying member for the last 20 years. That equates to around $2,000 in dues over the period of time I have been a member, so I figured let Allstate pick up the bill for this call. WOW!!!! thus began the opening scene to a real bad movie, the kind you couldn't make up. The real twist in the call to KOA-Allstate Motor Club came with I got a follow up call from Good Sam Roadside Assistance wanting to verify that the issue has been taken care of.

Now, did you notice that the call was made to KOA/Allstate and the follow up was from Good Sam?

Too keep it short I'll do a quick summary. Call placed, still so solution to the matter. Over 1 hour 15 minutes on the phone. Lied to, frustrated, took blood pressure medication and thankful that I'm not stranded on the side of the road but rather in my driveway at home.
  • OH, But Wait the story gets better!!!!!

While in the mist of typing the last post my home phone rings. Caller ID says Affinity Group and my mind goes to the question "WHO".

So I answer the phone, and more likely not with my most pleasant voice to which I apologize Zach. And low and behold guess who was on the phone? OK, not hard to guess if you had read the last sentence.

Zach was most gracious and had been following my situation since the original post made back on Sunday. Once I followed up with this latest string of " Customer Service Fails by the opposing team the first string quarterback for SGRA (Zach)stepped in to call the next play.

Currently the matter is in his hands and things are being taken care of. Do you know how well it makes you feel when a star member of such a large conglomerate of companies takes the time to watch out for the members who made the choice to join as a due paying member. Well if you don't let me tell you it is a warm fuzzy feeling, the kind that earns your respect and tells you that the right choice has been made. To put it more simply about the only better feeling is a hug from a grandchild who for no reason just wanted to grace you with a no reason hug. And that is special !!!!
  • Now for the final step in the above posted complete failure of Allstate Motor Club customer service.

While the above post was being typed, I was waiting on a phone call back from a Customer Service Supervisor who was looking into the matter. See I had gotten so fed up that I requested to be transferred to a Supervisor for membership cancelation. This person kept me on the phone for 40 minutes trying to keep me from canceling the membership promising to get todays matter handled promptly and then offer a 50% discount. I called back a few minutes ago to learn that my membership had been canceled rather than attempt to fix the problem.
