Major attraction discounts

I was wondering if Good Sam has looked at attracting more major attractions to offer a discount like they do for AAA?

We have discount at the Orlando area attractions but that is pretty much it.

Think towards things like aquariums, zoo's, museums in areas where there is a Good Sam campground(s) which would help enhance their business and give more value to them for their involvement with GS.

Your info is wrong. The Good Sam Club was started by a magazine. The original purpose was so that Good Sam members could know, recognize, and thus trust fellow RVers that had the GS logo.

The member benefits such as discounted camping fees were added later.

GS has always been owned by a for profit business but the original purpose was as a benefit to the members/subscribers. Now it is nothing but a marketing tool for the sales of RV services. That is from the mouth of the CEO. Since Sue Bray left the GS club has lost all it's focus regarding member benefits.

This forum may be free to use but it is also a marketing tool. Notice all the ads for RV related service, etc? Fortunately I don't have to look at them because I use Firefox with ad blocker.

Good Sam is an organization of campgrounds and rv parks. Attractions are another matter, outside the scope and subject matter of Good Sam.

Actually Good Sam started as a an organization of campers not businesses, so if it is supporting businesses shouldn't it be any that support camping/RV lifestyle?

I do notice no response from GS yet.

Yes, GS supports the lifestyle and affiliated businesses, provides this free site for your questions.
Good Sam Parks are required to honor a 10% Discount on posted fees at all times for visits less than when the camp may offer a greater discount, such as weekly rates.
Good Sam has always been an organization of mutual service, membership is for fee to all parties, with benefit to all that utilize it.

  • Great idea. First and foremost the Good Sam Club should be maximizing benefits for the members, not trying to sell us services. I get sick and tired of the constant solicitations. Sue Bray was very member benefit oriented before she was shown the door.

I don't understand, why should it be that way?
Costco sells all kinds of discounted attraction tickets and they seem to be doing alright.

    EDIT:
Oh good grief. Ignore my post on the subject. I had mis-read the post as being about Sams Club and not GS.

I've got to stop combining pain killers and cheap beer.

BTW, thanks for the gentle PM on the subject SDcampowneroperator.
