No road side Assistance! Blow out on interstate!

Well, I just received a letter of cancellation for my Good Sam Roadside Assistance. My card states that I've been a member for 3 years now and apparently I've used my service too much. To my recollection I have used the service 4 times, although Good Sam states that I've used it 6 times. I just wanted to warn folks who have Good Sam Roadside Service, it's a decent service as long as you don't use it. 2 tows and 2 tire changes, from my recollection, constitutes a cancellation. Even if I had used it 6 times in the 3 years as a member, as the service stated, I don't see an abuse of the service. I used it as the need arose, isn't that what your supposed to do with this kind of service? So, just a heads up folks, don't use your Good Sam Roadside Service or you'll get cancelled.

Honestly, AAA has a better roadside service and I'll be going back to them. I only went with Good Sam due to the RV service, but they use odd tow companies and it takes a fair amount of time to be serviced. AAA responds very quickly with more reputable providers.

My department had a policy pertaining to "Ancillary Traffic Services", in my years on the road I changed many flats, adjusted snow chains, opened locked cars, etc. And like most, it just depended on the situation/location, and many times I would standby until a wrecker would arrive. However, on one occasion I delivered a baby in the back seat. The baby nor the mother wanted to wait on EMS.

They are to park the patrol units behind the broken down vehicle with the emergency lights on, and it's a good idea to get out of that unit once you've done this. Good Sam Corporate Office responded to this post /complaint. They offered reimbursement for charges we encountered in getting other assistance.
The reimbursement amount arrived yesterday.
I feel it fair to post this resolution.

Much appreciated Zach. I was very happy to hear that you were taking my complaints seriously and would take it to the team in an effort to improve the service. Overall, it seems mostly a communication issue and as you stated, you'd address that with the team. Folks out there, broke down, need to know that help is on the way and asap. After talking with you, my faith in Good Sam is reinstated and I'm sure you will continue to find ways to make the roadside assistance program more efficient. My purpose in my original post was to address and hopefully fix the issues I experienced and nothing more. However, I do appreciate the extension to my subscription that you offered. It shows that you care and want to stand behind your service.
