Hello! I am currently trying to find a replacement service for roadside towing assistance after AAA left us stranded. We currently pay for their RV package which includes assistance with trailers under tow. I'll try to keep this story short... Several months ago, we were towing our boat, a 21' Eliminator, and had the bearing disintegrate on one of the wheels making it un-towable. I called AAA for assistance and was absolutely blown away to find out that they will only assist with "boat trailers", as in, the trailer with no boat :? They refused to help and left us stranded in Yuma, Arizona on a Sunday afternoon. My question is this: I want to sign up for Good Sam, but need to know if their service would have been willing to help us in this situation. We tow across the desert between Yuma, Arizona and Phoenix, Arizona in the summer, so being stranded in the middle of nowhere without any help could be disastrous. Is anyone able to provide insight as to the specifics of if Good Sam will provide assistance to a boat trailer WITH a boat on it?

A similar thing happened to me with Good Sam. I had a flat tire on my car trailer and GS wouldn't send anyone out to change the tire because it wasn't a "camp" trailer. I guess it was my fault for not checking to see that only a "specific" type of trailer tire is covered. I have since found out that it would cost me $159 to have the plan that includes any kind of trailer. Coach-Net includes all trailers for $139, so I will now be switching to Coach-Net. I have been reading many more positive reviews about Coach-Net compared to GS anyway.

Try Allstate RV RSA. They cover all my vehicles and trailers. I've been with them since 1997 and they have never left me stranded.

Coach Net has responded for service with both our utility trailer and boat trailer on the road, without any problems. Both were loaded, one with quads and the other with a 20' boat.

It looks like one person had typos, not sure on the others, but they all appear from the same time frame. Just a thought, but folks can come here and post since the owner of the site is also the GSRA, the other company has no place to do this. I also doubt most folks post when it works as it should.

There have been multiple posts about this issue. I'm new and considering a GS membership with RSA. Customer service is paramount because it instills confidence and keeps customers coming back. They can change tires and assist travelers perfectly and in a friendly manner all day long, but it won't mean a hill of beans if the people on the phone can't quickly and effectively communicate and process new memberships.

So there was a glitch in a system somewhere, happens every once in a while. I guess you can't cancel the charge with your CC Company over the internet so you have to call. Either way it is a phone call, no sure why 3 days later you have not called either one to fix the issue. On your other thread about 6 hours ago they asked you to send them a PM, not call them to fix it. That is even easier than a phone call.

Yep well,, Three days later and NO reply to my PM's,,, Calling an operator at GS isn't going to FIX it,, oh just a glitch like a blink on the TV,, Well SOME ONE had my Credit Card number AND Good Sam HAD NO record of that?? Whew,, glad I didn't sweat that one, Easy for you sit in your computer chair and TELL ME what I should and Shouldn't do.... Give me your CC number and I will try it again with GS,,hope they work that glitch out!!! PS,,Good Sam has all of my information with Daytime phone number,,,, Not a peep as of yet!!

If you are so concerned about them having your CC number, then why haven't you called them to find out whats going on. Seeing as its been several days since you started the post and are still waiting for them to call you, it appears that you may not be so concerned about the cc thing as you are at trying to make a spectacle of the situation.

My point on "another phone call" is that you will not simply call them to get it straight, yet you will call your credit card company to cancel or make sure it doesn't go through. And then on top of that, you spend the time on here complaining about it several times, where that time could of been spent of getting it corrected. Mistakes are made. Heaven forbid if people make mistakes. No one is perfect.

I can never understand when something goes wrong first time why folks immediately respond as if someone somewhere is out to screw them and then condemn an entire company for the single error. Remember:

1. Computers are not infallible. They are machines and make mistakes.

2. The people feeding information to the computers are not infallible. They are the weakest link in all systems.

3. When things go wrong, most businesses want to make it right. Give them a chance to right the errors.

4. Things will go wrong in the most perfect companies.

5. Be part of the solution instead of continuing the problem

So, the trailer can have an ATV, which is an off-road vehicle, on it, but not an off-road motorcycle. :?
