I am using the big Goodsam book to input data into the database for my app. I want this data to be as complete & accurate as possible. My question has to do with showers & restrooms at Goodsam rated RV parks. Almost all have a rating for "Showers & Restrooms" but none of the listings say the park has restrooms and only a couple mention showers. How do I know if a particular park has showers or restrooms or not?Thanks for your help......

Interesting, you are using someone else's data to create your database for an app you developing and then complaining that the data is incomplete or is inaccurate.

Since the data you are using is copyrighted by Good Sam I would think that if you develop a commercial App YOU WILL BE SUED.

Or, you could call them all, but we all know campground owners lie, even when the truth is easier, so that is probably out. What is your app going to uniquely do that the other dozen or so sources don't? Just copying other people's work does border on copyright infringement, is unethical, and doesn't add anything to what already exists.

There are loads of websites, apps, and books listing the facilities at RV parks and campgrounds. The raw data is public domain.

Wow this is a first! I agree with westernrvpark owner! OP why don't you take a look inside the front cover of the book within the first few pages... notice the copyright statement? What you are doing is a civil offense in direct violation of Goodsam's copyright. They will be happy to help answer your question... just post your real name and legal address. The response will be addressed from their lawyers and titled Cease and Desist.

This person could be making his own app for his own use...not at all unheard of.

Maybe that question should have been asked first instead of jumping to so many dire conclusions.

And while the book is copyrighted much of the information it contains is not. The reason is simple. Much of it is used in free advertising by the parks themselves. Therefore no copyright infringement...plagarism is the worst case scenario.

Since the data you are using is copyrighted by Good Sam I would think that if you develop a commercial App
YOU WILL BE SUED.
