Buyer beware. I have been a Good Sam club member for 2 years with roadside assistance the last year. I had the unfortunate experience of breaking down more than once in the last year. While Good Sam's response and service was good each time, I was just advised that my service has been cancelled for usage outside their "normal guidelines". There is no mention of these "guidelines" in their literature. These were not even complex or costly events. Just routine towing (of a vehicle not an RV) and lock service. Even after requesting reconsideration I was cancelled. This is certainly not the service I would expect from a world class organization. Disappointed and frustrated and looking for a new provider.

We have seen this way too many times and we did not renew. One would think that our funds being paid without a single claim would help those unfortunate enough to experience repeated bad luck in the same renewal period.

What planet did you grow up on? Frequency of claims will get you cancelled on your auto and homeowners also. Good luck in getting another Co. to take you after cancellation.

I cannot understand why, if we post on a public forum, we want to keep our info private. I think GS should put everything out in the open. Our legal names, addresses, phone numbers, ss numbers, and anything else they have. We don't need privacy. We are RV'ers. :B:B

I've been a Lifetime Member for over twenty five years and this is what I fear most. Like other members, we carry insurance for peace of mind. I'm also an ocassional world traveler and I carry travel insurance whether I'm booked in the next month or not.

Over those years, I have not used any services that would need urgent attention (thanks God). My wife and I are fortunate enough not to call Good Sam when traveling in RV.

What is discomforting to hear is when you require to provide you all personal information in cases like this.

Is the information you have on file not sufficient to handle the situation?

We live in a world of instant communication and there is no excuse for mishandling the claim.

It seems to me that your further step to require added info is a result of lack of communication between departments.

You should be aware of what's going on company-wide and not rely on micro management that is evident.

When I need some assistance, I don't want any more stress than what I already have.

First of all this kind of post IS EXACTLY what the ASK MARCUS forums are created for and it is perfectly appropriate what the OP has undertaken.

Secondly these complaints being aired here is also EXACTLY what Good Sam/GSE wants. Why? It keeps those complaints off of other internet review sites that are read by many many more people.

In short it serves GSE's purposes perfectly.

And to be fair in most cases I think they handle these kinds of complaints fairly well. At least in my case and in others who have posted their results.

Check this out "Stacy"; the OP brought all this up on a public forum. That's an indication they would like the whole world to know what kind of stuff GS is pulling.
