Well, i guess that i am that "jackpot winner". The 5 day wait for repairs during my vacation didn't feel like a jackpot though. Coach-net towed the 40' DP on a lowboy trailer for 200 miles in Canada to get me to the nearest repair facility. I never saw the bill. They handled it. Kudos to Coachnet.
As far as extended warranty, i guess that i hit the jackpot again. The injector pump that needed replacing along with the labor and other parts cost more than the warranty did, by a long shot. So, I guess that savings account would have been in the negative by a few thousand dollars !

Have CoachNet because of being unsatisfied elsewhere. Never had Good Sam, but he is related to what I had.

Check with National Interstate Insurance through an insurance broker. They specialize in full timers. They will cover your RV and your cars. They include Coach Net roadside assistance in their policy quote. We have used Coach Net and were very satisfied.

Can't comment whether Good Same or Coach Net is better. We don't use either of those. You should be able to cover your RV with the same company that insures your home and automobiles UNTIL you become full-timers. You should have an extension of coverage from your homeowners/renters policy for contents - probably 10% of the amount of contents coverage you have on the homeowners/renters policy. Once you become full-time, you will want a full-timers policy to provide coverage on your RV, the contents and to give you liability coverage like you would normally have under a homeowners policy. Most regular insurance companies do not provide full-timers coverages. When you are ready to purchase full-timers coverage, come back and ask for some suggested companies.

I had excellent response when on Coach Net in my previous motorhome and am going to pick it up again before my trip. I am paying for full coverage on my old 92 Eagle with Foremost Insurance. I had to send pictures of everything in and out before they would consider it. I know its really old but figure if something happens it will be totaled and might as well get something out of it toward buying another one. Not sure how many years I will keep it though.

Yes, the coverage takes effect immediately after acceptance by the ERS provider. Coach-Net has an excellent reputation, and Good Sam is currently contracting with Allstate Motor Club as their ERS supplier, so both services are pretty equal in that respect. There are some differences in their coverage and features though, so read both offerings carefully before deciding which one is the best fit for your situation.

Extended warranties are just throwing money away.

We've paid twice for RV extended coverage and never did have peace of mind nor did we ever use the coverage extensively.
The 'ole pitch "pays for itself with one major failure" is pure horse****...

Things that go awry are things that normally wear anyway.

We just have loss coverage for the RV added to our auto policy for the discount.
