I will chime in and add my thoughts as well.
I have been a member for about 18 years, i enjoy the membership as it allows me to do some things i enjoy. That is me personally. I have also used the Stand By Sams when traveling to get information on a reputable repair facility, locations of things and just have been able to myself as well provide help to one traveling through with information. This is information that we all have as we live in an area where someone is going. In addition, do we still help our traveling friends when they are broke down on the side of the road? do we stop and at least ask if they need help, phone, water etc??? We do and that is what the "Good Sam" theme is all about. We will still pend our money wherever we want including camping world, towing, auto and home insurance etc. These are some of the best rates i have ever had and use my membership benefits to fit my needs and lifestyle. So now i am done voicing my opinion. Keep the good sam theme going! ! ! Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

I noticed today that when you first enter www.goodsam.com, under the "community" tab, there is a link for "Standby Sams". When clicking the link you are navigated to the "Community" page, but there is no info about the Standby Sams.

Now, click on the "Community" link again (header - top of page), and the Standby Sams link is now gone in the drop down list. Even if you go back to the home page, it's not there now.

But, open a new browser and land on the home page, (first time) and the link is there in the drop down. Navigate anywhere and it's gone. One of your developers missed this link if it was the intention to remove it.

(leave it to a software tester to find it!)

Thank you for inquiries regarding the Stand by Sam’s program. Interest and usage of the program had waned in the past years. The decision was made to take down the Stand by Sam’s from the GSC webpage in an effort to modify the concept and improve the member experience of the program:

It is our expectation that enhancements to the concept and improvements to the operational execution will drive usage and participation in the pursuit of “members helping members”.
For those of you who volunteered, we appreciate your willingness to aide other RVers in need. We will communicate with you as we move forward with our plans for the future.

I think it just met its demise because of non use. I've been a member for about seven years and never used it. I think it just faded away.

Couple links in the Google Search directed me to the Road Side Assistance pages. So, this got me to thinking (It's all about money you know???) ... Standby Sams are a volunteer service folks sign up for, volunteer to help folks needing help when traveling through, or even locally. Of course, that means no service center is getting a call. It also means road side service companies are not getting that customer. .... um .... turn that though over in your head, and maybe that's why someone at the corporate level left the Standby's out. ??? Can't find them on the internet site, they can't be used. Breakdown in process.... call a service company. (I'm just sayin' ???)

You are exactly right! There is nothing in it for Good Sam/Camping World money wise, so why would they continue to sponsor it. When will people understand that they are all about the money not about a RV club. It is nothing like it was when Art Rouse had it. It is just a matter of time, I predict, that this forum is shut down.
