Swipe & Save Card

Why does it take so long to get the Swipe & Save card. The person I talked to on the phone today said it would be 3-4 weeks! Wonderful service!

I wanted to take a moment to explain our process and rationale.

We take requests daily for new or replacement membership cards. Files are transferred to our fulfillment center where cards are printed and mailed. This transfer and processing occurs twice each week. The total elapsed time from entry to kits in the mail is 3-4 days.

The printed membership cards are turned over to the US Postal service and sent standard mail. Our recent experience is that the US mail delivery can take 7 to 14 days from receipt. We track the delivery by inserting seed mail into each batch of cards and we have seen delivery from entry to delivery take 10 to 21 days. We have seen this take up to 4 weeks when mail volume increases at the US Postal Service which is why we tell members 3-4 weeks for delivery. Generally, our delivery is 2-3 weeks from member request.

We offer members who are in immediate need of cards more expedited shipping. This is very expensive and can drive up the cost of delivery. In the interest of maintaining dues at the lowest possible rates, we offer this only when there is an immediate need. Alternatively, we offer the option to print a temporary card online which will provide proof of membership. The temporary card is valid everywhere except at Pilot Flying J locations. In all instances, membership accounts are active at all Camping World SuperCenters the day after your enrollment. All Camping World SuperCenters and call centers can look up your membership using your phone number or address.

We send updated “Swipe and Save” cards at no cost to all Life members upon request. All you have to do is request them calling the number on the back of your current cards. If for any reason you do not receive your updated cards, please contact Member Services and we can research the request, verify your address and, if necessary, send additional replacement cards.

If you have specific questions or needs, please contact us at 800-234-3450. We are available around the clock to help.

  • I am thinking they should do something good for their members like, supporting them when they order something. They don't mind spending our money but what about spending their monies supporting their members.
I remember when I a member of a Good Sam Club and no matter what we did to support the state Good Sam Club we NEVER got a thankyou. I guess its just a one way thing.....

I'll wait and hope for the best
  • I requested my swipe & save card several months ago and was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks, but it never arrived. I finally called again last week and was first told it would come with my next renewal. I informed the person that I'm a life member and was then told it would be 3 to 4 weeks. Needless to say, I'm a little skeptical.
  • They told me 3-4 weeks......that was in OCTOBER...:S:S..

I guess since I'm a Lifetime member they are waiting until I renew my membership....:W

IF I EVER receive it, I will use it...until then, my rewards card still works...for now....Dennis
  • It's because they use an outsourced business to do the printing. Plus, they use the cheapest form of mailing to send it. I had trouble receiving my Life Member cards a couple years ago. What I was told then, was that the transmission from GS to their printer malfunctioned/didn't send or something to that effect and my information was not included in the batch. It went through another transmission and was printed fine then. So that tells me that they must send a transmission periodically (weekly?) to the printer and then the printer is responsible for the printing and mailing. And at the rate they are mailing it, the post office could be sitting on it somewhere as it goes about to the bottom of the barrel.

Terrible, it takes 3-4 weeks to receive a free benefit. Outlandish! :B

Maybe offer to pay for faster service?
