Tow 40 ft Holiday Rambler

Question

On my way home from Iowa to Albany, OR. I was 52 miles from Ontario near Baker city. I had a mechanical break down. I called GS RA. Every thing went well, she found a place to tow the coach to and get it fixed. I was told that GS only pays the first two hours of the tow. I was 52 miles from repair facility so she said it would be three hours charge, I would be charge $300. This was the closest repair facility. Then I see this from GS RA advertisement :

Q:How much of a tow will Good Sam Roadside Assistance pay for?

A:Unlike roadside assistance providers who have mileage restrictions on what they pay for a tow, Good Sam Roadside Assistance offers unlimited towing to the nearest service provider.

Guess it is not as good as it advertises. I was very happy with all GS RA did, but do think the advertisement needs reworded. FINMAN

FINMANThe problem was you read the GOOD SAM brochure after you were scammed.Everyone should Take a moment and read it the Good Sam Brochure now so you are prepared to JUST SAY NO when presented a bill.The individual has to be prepared to avoid a scammer

Documentation of any kind is supporting evidence and should not be false advertising. I would be surprised if he is NOT reimbursed after the GS rep talks to him.

Yes, let us know the outcome. We had GS towing for when traveling the AlCan - they are supposed to tow the MH to a suitable repair facility regardless of the distance. We didn't need it, but the cost was very reasonable.

You are correct that Good Sam Roadside Assistance will tow your vehicle to the nearest willing and capable repair facility (determined by dispatch at the time of the disablement). In cases where a member requests a specific drop-off location, this can sometimes result in an out-of-pocket cost for the difference in time or mileage to our determined closest willing and capable repair facility. There is not a "2 hour maximum" for towing in our program as suggested. That being said, we would like to research the incident in order to best assist you in this matter.
