I just wanted to drop a positive note about Good Sam. We have an older RV (28 years old) and while it has been pretty reliable we have been stuck a few times. Once when we pulled into Disney World the heater core blew. Good Sam was able to put us in touch with a mobile RV mechanic who came out and bypassed the core until we could get home to our home mechanic for a permanent fix (that was a cold ride home! :) ).Another time our fuel pump burned up and Good Sam got us towed to a repair shop. Another time our alternator died and again Good Sam got us towed to a repair shop.Every time we've been stuck on the side of the road Good Sam has come through for us. It's worth every penny. I would not go out on the road in an RV without Good Sam insurance.Steve

this sounds just like a TV add ,glad your happy with GS, I was not.

Sounds like a Google search would have been about as useful. All they did was give you a phone number of a machanic.

We’ve had two really good experiences where they came through very quickly, and one where we solved the situation ourselves

One was a simple issue far from home very early on a Sunday morning, and we were on our way with no delay. Another was at night returning from a trip, almost home, but needed to go into the Mercedes dealer on one of those giant sized big-vehicle trucks. Big relief, and that tow probably covered the cost of our roadside assistance membership for a couple of years.

But one time they couldn’t find anyone nearby available in the boondocks on a Sunday for a slideout issue and since we were in a campground, suggested we try again Monday. We eventually found a mobile repair lady who came, did a temporary fix to get us home, charged us just a small fee.

Two out of three isn’t bad. We renew every year, glad to have the coverage.

If you can't spell mechanic, then a google search might not work out so well. ;)

Seriously, pretty much all the roadside services are "phone services" unless you're requesting a tow. They'll get you in contact with a shop/person who will then charge you to do the work or buy the part.

Nothing uniquely "bad" about GS in that regard.

Not sure if spell check missed that or I missed spell check, anyway you sounded it out.
