Been a club member for a while now, but this is the first year we've really taken advantage of the Campground discounts. We've visited enough Good Sam campgrounds this year, that the discounts have now paid for our membership. And we still have half a camping season left!
The closest Camping World to us is South of Indianapolis. We live about 30 miles North-East of Indianapolis. To get to that Camping World is a real inconvenience from our home location. But when we do travel that way, we almost always stop in and buy something. We get a discount. I suppose, if we added it all up, the card has more than paid for itself this year.
I don't do any of the extra services as almost everything is already offered and covered under my automobile insurance, and I use several trip planners, (including Good Sam) and compare. Then end up getting a paper map to double check everything, compare, and make adjustments between them all. I never trust just one source, especially when traveling into new areas I've never been to.
For what it's worth, my 8 year old Tom-Tom is still the best! We get the updates twice a year and it's still the best, although it does occasionally take us through a housing addition instead of around it. But that gives us some extra site seeing, so we don't mind.
I'm happy with Good Sam. It's all a matter of how and what you do with it.
