Good Sam Club is a club, if the OP chooses not to participate in the club then they are putting nothing into it. Many people join the club and have no idea all the local, state, regional, and national events that take place. People should get involved in the club, participate, volunteer and they will find value in the club.
Purchasing services is a separate issue and can be purchased from many sources, no club membership required.
